Three years ago an Israeli Army bulldozer - manufactured and financed by the
US - drove over and killed Rachel Corrie. The 23-year-old student from
Washington State was in Palestine trying to protect defenceless Palestinians
from Israel's daily terror. Rachel's horrifying death was deliberately
covered-up and her name smeared in order to "protect Israel's interests".
Why is the U.S. sacrifice so much for so little?

Since its creation on Palestinian land, Israel has received massive
financial, military and political aid from the U.S. to facilitate Israel's
dispossession of the Palestinian people and expansionist policy. In 1948,
Israeli Jews have ethnically cleansed more than 800,000 Palestinian (75 per
cent of the population) from their land and massacred tens of thousands of
innocent men, women and children. Again, in 1967 Israel used the same
process of systematic ethnic cleansing to expel more than 500,000
Palestinians from their land in the West Bank. Israel is devoid of any moral
superiority.

In Palestine, Israel's brutal policies involve permanent injuries to
individuals, sadistic torture, rapes and deliberate executions of innocent
Palestinians, including school children and political leaders. Today, more
than 4 million Palestinians live on less than 20 percent of what was once
the British Mandate of Palestine. They are pushed into disconnected ghettoes
control and denied freedom of movement by the Israeli Occupation Force
(IOF). Gaza is a large prison with more than 1.2 million impoverished and
hungry Palestinians. According to the World Bank, Gaza is experiencing the
worst depression in history caused by Israeli blockade and restrictions.
More than 10,000 Palestinians are illegally imprisoned in Israeli-run
prisons without charge. Another 4-6 million Palestinians are languishing in
refugee camps in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon unable to return to their
homeland. The aim is to fractionate and exterminate the Palestinian
community while the rest of the world looking the other way.

Israeli revisionist historian Benny Morris, who advocated the expulsion of
all Palestinians from Palestine because he thinks Palestinians are
Untermenschen or "lesser humans" than Jews has admitted (recently) that
Israel "founded on brute force, repression and fear, collaboration and
treachery, beating and torture chambers and daily intimidation, humiliation
and manipulation" together with the stealing of Palestinian land and water
resources. The situation has not changed since. Israel continues the
dispossession and the systematic process of ethnic cleansing of the
Palestinian people with unquestionable support of the US administrations.

A study by John Mearsheimer, Professor of Political Science at the
University of Chicago and Stephen Walt, Professor of International Affairs
at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, accurately detailed the
hidden fist of the pro-Israel America's pro-Israel Jewish Lobby ('the Lobby')
behind US unquestioned support for Israel's terror against the Palestinian
people. In the March 2006 issue of the Faculty Research Working Papers
Series of Harvard University [1]. The authors write:

"Since the October War in 1973, Washington has provided Israel with a level
of support dwarfing that given to any other state. It has been the largest
annual recipient of direct economic and military assistance since 1976, and
is the largest recipient in total since World War Two, to the tune of well
over $140 billion (in 2004 dollars). Israel receives about $3 billion in
direct assistance each year, roughly one-fifth of the foreign aid budget,
and worth about $500 a year for every Israeli. This largesse is especially
striking since Israel is now a wealthy industrial state with a per capita
income roughly equal to that of South Korea or Spain". Compare this with
what Americans received in Katrina devastated New Orleans.

"Most recipients of aid given for military purposes are required to spend
all of it in the US, but Israel is allowed to use roughly 25 per cent of its
allocation to subsidise its own defence industry. It is the only recipient
that does not have to account for how the aid is spent, which makes it
virtually impossible to prevent the money from being used for purposes the
US opposes, such as building settlements on the West Bank", write
Mearsheimer and Walt. "Moreover, the US has provided Israel with nearly $3
billion to develop weapons systems, and given it access to such top-drawer
weaponry as Blackhawk helicopters and F-16 jets. Finally, the US gives
Israel access to intelligence it denies to its NATO allies and has turned a
blind eye to Israel's acquisition of nuclear weapons", add the authors.
Furthermore, the US provides Israel with strong political backing - even
though Israel is in violations of International Law and countless UN
Resolutions -, in particular using its veto's power at the UN against the
world community to veto any criticism of Israel and increases the misery of
the Palestinian people.

"The combination of unwavering support for Israel and the related effort to
spread 'democracy' throughout the region has inflamed Arab and Islamic
opinion and jeopardized not only U.S. security but that of much of the rest
of the world. This situation has no equal in American political history. Why
has the U.S. been willing to set aside its own security and that of many of
its allies in order to advance the interests of another state?" question
Walt and Mearsheimer.

It is alleged that US support for Israel is motivated by the following: 1)
Israel is "outnumbered" by the Arabs; 2) Israel is the only "democracy" in a
region; and 3) Israel is a strategic U.S. ally and that supporting Israel is
in the "interests of the American people". However, evidence shows that the
opposite is true in all cases.

Israel is the largest military power in the region. In fact Israel is the
fourth largest army in the world. Its modern army in financed and backed by
the US and Western allies with more than 200 nuclear warheads aimed at
defenceless neighbours. It is not a true Israel is only outnumbered by
defenceless peoples. The Arabs armies are not for defence purposes, but to
protect US stooges from the Arab masses and Arabs nationalism. Israel has
regularly attacked and invaded neighbouring countries. In addition to its
occupation of Palestinian land, Israel is still occupying the Golan Height
in Syria, and south Lebanon. Israel continues to kill and wounding
Palestinians in ratio of four or five to one. And in recent time, Israel has
threatened to bomb Iran.

Israel is not a "democracy". Israel defines itself as a "Jewish state". It
is not a state for all its citizens. According to a recent report published
in the Guardian and substantiated by Gideon Levi of Ha'aretz, Israel is one
racist state reminiscent to Apartheid South Africa [2]. It discriminates not
only against native Palestinians and 'Israeli Arabs' but also against
non-Jews. Even Jews are treated and categorised according to their origin.
Furthermore, Israel is in violations of international law and the UN Charter
in its brutal treatments of the Palestinian people.

Furthermore, Israel is not a "strategic" US asset. The US has far more
reliable vassals in the region than Israel. Saudi Arabia, like other big US
military bases in the Gulf, is a vital US ally in the war on Iraq and
Afghanistan. A large sector of the US economy depends on good relation with
Saudi Arabia. Turkey is another more important US ally than Israel. The
reality is that the unquestioned U.S. support for Israel is against
Americans' interests, and that Israel has succeeded in making America one of
the most feared and hated countries in the world.

Time has shown that the behaviour of the US administrations and Israel - in
rejecting countless peaceful proposals to end the conflict - have been
consistent in creating and encouraging long-lasting conflict and political
stalemate in the region. U.S. leaders have always put Israel's interests
above all other more vital US interests, and vehemently refused to reconcile
US interests in the Arab World with its interest in preserving Israel's
interest. This imperialist agenda of conflict and stalemate is designed to:
1) advance Israel's Zionist ideology; 2) benefit US oil corporations from
moderately high oil prices and; 3) provide market for US weapon industries.
However, support for Israel - pushed by the pro-Israel America's Lobby in
the US - takes precedence over other US interests in the Middle Eats.
Because the Lobby "claims are about advancing US interests and its support
for Israel is contextualised in its support for the overall US strategy in
the Middle East".

The influence of the pro-Israel Lobby, a collection of individuals and
organisation led among others by Zionist organisations such as the powerful
American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Anti-Defamation League
(ADL), the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), the
Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organisations (CPMJO), and the
Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP) is formidable. With
massive amounts of money collected from donations, the influence of these
organisations in Congress and over US foreign policy is far-reaching. It is
common among elites American Liberals that Capitol Hill is the fourth
"Israeli Occupied Territory", after the Syrian Golan Heights, the West Bank,
and Gaza.

Without a doubt, "[t]he thrust of U.S. policy in the region derives almost
entirely from domestic politics, and especially the activities of the
'Israel Lobby'. Other special-interest groups have managed to skew foreign
policy, but no lobby has managed to divert it as far from what the national
interest would suggest, while simultaneously convincing Americans that U.S.
interests and those of the other country - in this case, Israel - are
essentially identical," argue the authors of the study. In coalition with
the American religious right from the Republican Party to the evangelical
Christian groups, AIPAC with about 100,000 wealthy members form a single
ethnic group wields a formidable force in US politics.

The study by professors Walt and Mearsheimer reveals that; "AIPAC's success
is due to its ability to reward legislators and congressional candidates who
support its agenda, and punish those who challenge it. We can recall in this
regard the attack waged in 1984 on Senator Charles Percy, chairman of the
powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee by Thomas Dine, head of AIPAC:
All the Jews in America, from coast to coast, gathered to oust [Senator
Charles] Percy [of Illinois. Chairman of Senate Foreign Relations Committee]
and the American politicians - who hold public positions now, and those who
aspire - got the message" [3].

Money is critical to US elections (as the recent scandal over lobbyist Jack
Abramoff's various shady dealings remind us) and AIPAC makes sure that its
friends get strong financial support from the myriad pro-Israel political
action committees. Those seen as hostile to Israel, on the other hand, can
be sure that AIPAC will direct campaign contributions to their political
opponents. AIPAC also organizes letter-writing campaigns and encourages
newspaper editors to endorse pro-Israel candidates". In 1982, AIPAC led a
very successful campaign to defeat Paul Findley, of Springfield, Illinois.
Findley was a congressman known for his sympathetic views toward the
Palestinian people. In other words, follow the Lobby's line of
unconditionally supporting Israel's terror, or else.

To have her ambition for the presidency and her way to the White House
certified by the Lobby, Hillary R. Clinton has now turned against the
Palestinian people. In her latest attack on the Palestinians, the New York
Senator defended the Apartheid Wall - condemned as illegal by the
International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague - which is built by Israel
on stolen Palestinian land. In fact, the ICJ' ruling was that the Wall and
all settlements (Israeli colonies) in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem are
illegal and must be removed. The ICJ ruling, like all other world curt
ruling, requires all other signatories to the ICJ Charter to compel Israel's
compliance with the ruling. The Wall annexes 58 per cent of the West Bank.
It is designed to imprison the Palestinians into disconnected ghettos and
confiscate their land and water resources. Yet, the Palestinians are told to
'democratise'. An imperialist cliché designed to manipulate public opinion
and increase the suffering of the victims.

Early this year, Human Rights Watch (HRW) called on the Bush Administration
to deduct from Israel's foreign aid assistance the amount it spends on
expansion of settlements and the Apartheid Wall. This request is an
encouraging sign of due moral principle. Most Americans are misled by the
Lobby and Israel's propaganda that the Apartheid Wall is just a 'security
fence'. A recent report by Shin Bet (the Israeli intelligent service)
attributed the decline of attacks against Israel and increased safety to the
"the informal truce observed by some Palestinian groups" and not to the
Apartheid Wall.

Mrs. Clinton campaign donation is assured now. Mrs. Clinton just accepted
$2000 from Willie Tan, owner of a string of clothing sweatshops in the tiny
Pacific nation of Saipan. Mr. Tan was recently ordered to pay $9 million in
back wages to workers - mostly teenage Chinese females illegally shipped
into the Island from China - after officials branded his operation a
sweatshop in 1992. Mr. Tan has links with the Jack Abramoff, the lobbyist
who pleaded guilty in January to fraud, corruption and embezzlement charges.

Abramoff who received large amount of money as a Republican lobbyist
diverted most of it ('charity donations') to Israeli settlers living
illegally on Palestinian lands. His customers were told this money is
intended for inner city poor Americans. Instead the money bought military
hardware to help settlers terrorize native Palestinians. Among other
expenditures, building school for Israeli snipers, purchases of camouflage
suits, sniper scopes, night vision binoculars, a thermal imager and other
material described in foundation records as security equipment. (Michael
Isikoff, Newsweek, 02 May 2005). Abramoff is one of Tom Delay "closest and
dearest friends". Tom DeLay is the evangelical Christian Zionist who was
indicted on money laundering and other charges, and resigned his post as
House Majority Leader. DeLay is an advocate of Israel's policy of deliberate
killings of Palestinian leaders. In July 2003 on a visit to Israel, DeLay
told the Israeli Knesset that: "Israel's fight is our fight" and that
"Israel should not withdraw from the occupied Arab lands". The speech was an
Armageddon of violence and injustice orchestrated by the alliance of AIPAC
and the Christian Zionists.

In addition, the Lobby plays an important role in the thought control of the
American public. Its most formidable weapon is the use of anti-semitism
against anyone who dares to criticise Israel's terror against the
Palestinian people. The Lobby uses the cliché of anti-semitism to stifle
debate and remove any even-handedness criticism of Israel. Any criticism of
Israel is labelled anti-semitism and subjected to threat and intimidation.
As a result of this blackmail, the US media - from the mainstream to the
so-called "Alternative" media - is the most biased and less informative
pro-Israeli media in the world. Even Israeli media by comparison are more
even-handed than the US media. "Because so many powerful people in the media
and publishing business are strong supporters of Israel, the task is made
vastly easier", wrote the late literary critic Edward Said.

Furthermore, to steer young Americans in a pro-Israeli direction, the Lobby
is moving into the university and college campuses across the US - even
though the average American is unaware of "that there is a narrative of
Palestinian suffering and dispossession at least as old as Israel itself".
It instituted and created several right-wing groups to watch and monitor any
department or faculty who dares to have pro-Palestinian opinion. Faculty
members across the US are under pressure from the Lobby to hue to Israel's
policy. It demands a total pro-Israel teaching and brainwashing of American
students regardless.

Several universities with Middle Eastern departments have been targeted and
their faculty members were subjected to hate e-mails and intimidation. They
are also demanding Congress to reduce the appropriation for Title VI-funded
programs of the Higher Education Act, in which federal funding provided to
universities to support the study of languages such as Arabic, Persian and
Turkish. Leading the pack of these attacks on American free thought,
education and democracy is Campus Watch. It is a pro-Israel, anti-Muslims
web site founded by the Zionist and Islamophobic, Daniel Pipes. The site is
a Zionist propaganda arm of the Israeli government. It is specialising,
among others, in witch-hunts academics and students who question the US
blind support for Israel's terror and repression in Palestine. It is a form
of terrorist propaganda against academic freedom.

The study of Mearsheimer and Walt concurs with several other studies and
opinions around the world that the US war on Iraq was largely to advance
Israel's interests and has nothing to do with WMD and terrorism - as has
been proved. The study make a strong case that the Lobby and US Zionists
(the so-called 'dual loyalty' neo-cons or cabal, including Paul Wolfowitz,
Douglas Feith, Elliot Abrams, Richard Perle, David Wurmser, John Bolton,
Michael Ruben, Dick Cheney, and Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, who is awaiting
criminal trial) in the Bush Administration formulated the policies and made
the decisions to push the US to got to war on Iraq. "The main driving force
behind the war was a small band of neo-conservatives, many with ties to the
Likud [Party]", write Mearsheimer and Walt. "Given the neo-conservatives'
devotion to Israel, their obsession with Iraq, and their influence in the
Bush administration, it isn't surprising that many Americans suspected that
the war was designed to further Israeli interests", argue the authors. Yet,
the neocons push for the war on Iraq was largely uncovered in US media.

The war against the Iraqi people proves to be a carbon copy of the war on
the Palestinian people. In the same way Israel is destroying Palestine, US
illegal war on Iraq has destroyed the entire nation. In addition to the
hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi women and children slaughtered in
cold blood, an unknown large number of US soldiers killed and wounded. Why a
premeditated mass murder of innocent civilians is good for the Jewish people
or the American people?

Furthermore, the war on Iraq has cost American taxpayers massively.
According to Linda Bilmes, a Harvard University budget expert and Columbia
University's Professor of Economics and Nobel Laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz
calculate that the war is likely to cost the American taxpayers a minimum of
nearly one trillion dollars and potentially over $2 trillion [3]. America's
education system and the health care services will blossom with a fraction
of this money. Israel is the only beneficiary of this criminal and illegal
war, and Israel continues to foment new war in the region.

The current warmongering propaganda against Iran by Israel, the Lobby and
some American politicians such as Senator Joe Lieberman and Senator Hillary
R. Clinton is against the interests of the American people. Americans should
know that good relations with Iran are in the interests of their nation. Any
US attack on Iran is against the interests of the American and Iranian
peoples, and can only lead to hostility between the West and the Muslim
World. The Lobby's push for the war on Iraq and Israel's involvement in the
crisis of both Iraq and Iran show that Israel is not only attacking the
Palestinian people, but Israel is also attacking every other Arab and Muslim
nation deemed to disagree with its colonial policy.

Israel reciprocates to this generous and unquestioned support provided by
American taxpayers and the US administration by simply undermining American
security. The case of Jonathan Pollard, a Texan Jew and former intelligence
analyst in the US Navy is a case in point. Pollard was recruited by Israel
to spy on the US military and US Nuclear Deterrent program. Israel then
traded those stolen nuclear secrets to the former Soviet Union in exchange
for increased emigration quotas from there to Israel. "A number of officials
strongly suspect that the Israelis repackaged much of Pollard's material and
provided it to the Soviet Union in exchange for continued Soviet permission
for Jews to emigrate to Israel", wrote Seymour Hersh. Former Defence
Secretary, Casper Weinberger, in his affidavit opposing a reduced sentence
for Pollard, described the damage done to the United States; "[It is]
difficult to conceive of a greater harm to national security than that
caused by . Pollard's treasonous behaviour".

Lawrence A. Franklin, the former analyst at the Defence Secretary Office at
the Pentagon was recently convicted and sentenced to 12 years, and seven
months in prison after pleading guilty to three felony counts under the
Espionage Act to communicate classified information to foreign government.
Franklin passed highly classified military information about Iran and Iraq
to two pro-Israel lobbyists (Steven Rosen, AIPAC director of foreign policy
issues, and Keith Weissman, AIPAC Iran expert) and an Israeli diplomat. As
Mearsheimer and Walt argue, AIPAC is simply "a de facto agent for a foreign
government" which enjoys tax exempt status spying on the US.

Rosen and Weissman were charged and still waiting trial. The leaking of the
FBI investigation of AIPAC to the media on August 28th, 2004 gave advance
warning to other spies working with Franklin. Further more, Israel's export
of technology, particularly arms technology (built with US input), and to
China is on the rise. The Israeli daily Ha'aretz report recently that "in
2005 contracts were signed for the export of more than $3 billion between
Israeli and foreign companies". Yet the mainstream media in the US who hyped
and propagated the illegal war against the Iraqi people remain mute about
Israel's illegal activities in the US and the danger of the pro-Israel
powerful Lobby to American democracy.

The arming of Israel by the US and its European allies is neither in the
interests of the Jewish people nor is in the interests of the Americans and
the Europeans. In fact, what Israel is doing in Palestine is against the
interests of the Jewish people. Anti-Jewish sentiment in Europe and around
the world is not the result of anti-Semitism - all Arabs are 'Semites' -,
but as a result of Israel's brutal policy against the Palestinian people,
and Israeli propaganda to foment anti-Muslim and anti-Arabs hatred around
the world. Jews and Muslims (including Arabs) have lived in coexistence for
centuries. There are an estimated 30,000 Jews live happily in Iran. They are
far better treated than the 1.2 million Arabs living in Israel, or the 4
million Palestinians living under Israel's brutal Occupation.

For the "two states" solution to achieve equitable and lasting settlement
for the peoples of the region, Israel must first withdraw from all occupied
Palestinian land - demanded by UN Resolution 1402. Second, UN Resolution
3236 adopted in 1974 which affirmed the right of the Palestinian to
self-determination and national independence, as well as their right to
return to their homes and properties must be implemented unconditionally.
The implementation of this resolution is essential for a just and lasting
peace.

Anti-American sentiment across the world has increased as a result of US
immoral policy of unconditionally supporting Israel's colonial policies in
Palestine. "People do not forget the death of their fellows, they do not
forget the torture and mutilation, they do not forget injustice, they do not
forget oppression, and they do not forget the terrorism of mighty powers.
They do not only don't forget. They strike back", said playwright and Nobel
laureate, Harold Pinter. If not rectified, US immoral policy will continue
to have massive consequences for the American people.

Mearsheimer and Walt rightly argue that Israel is no longer a reliable ally
but a burden on the US. They write; Israel "is becoming a strategic burden
[and] does not behave like a loyal ally". Israel is now "a liability". The
US "[s]upport for Israel is not the only source of anti-American terrorism,
but it is an important one, and it makes winning the war on terror more
difficult. There is no question that many al-Qaida leaders, including Osama
bin Laden, are motivated by Israel's presence in Jerusalem and the plight of
the Palestinians. Unconditional support for Israel makes it easier for
extremists to rally popular support and to attract recruits", write
Mearsheimer and Walt.

Having said all this, one must be careful to blame all US crimes around the
world on the pro-Israel Lobby; it is a deliberate diversion. The US is the
most powerful country in the world. The US has far more tools for violence
than any one, and the US is not accountable to anyone, let alone the
pro-Israel Lobby. The US has enough power to force Israel to end it's terror
against the Palestinian people. Any form of economic sanctions by the US and
its allies will force Israel to change its behaviour and pursue peaceful
settlement. The US administrations knew all along what they were/are doing.
In other words, the American administrations are complicit in Israel crimes
against the Palestinian people. The policies of both, the US and Israel, are
complementary imperialist policies.

Before she died for a noble cause in Palestine, Rachel Corrie accurately
observed: "I feel like what I'm witnessing here is a very systematic
destruction of people's ability to survive, and that is incredibly
horrifying . Sometimes I'm sitting down to dinner with people, and I just
realised that there is a massive military machine surrounding them and
trying to kill these people that I'm having dinner with, these families that
I'm sitting down to eat with and who are being very generous and kind to me,
and their children here, who are incredibly threatened, living lives that no
child ever should have to live". Rachel Corrie's words were deliberately
smeared and censored because they humanise the Palestinian people.

It took only one brave American citizen to stand in front of a US-made
Israeli Army bulldozer to protect not only innocent Palestinian lives but
also America's interests. It is up to the Americans people to choose between
the path of immorality and injustice and the path of human rights and
dignity for all.

Islam and the ethics of war

Islam sets down clear guidelines as to when war is ethically right, and clear guidelines as to how such a war should be
conducted.

In brief, war is permitted:

a.. in self defence
b.. when other nations have attacked an Islamic state
c.. if another state is oppressing its own Muslims
War should be conducted:

a.. in a disciplined way
b.. so as to avoid injuring non-combatants
c.. with the minimum necessary force
d.. without anger
e.. with humane treatment towards prisoners of war
Muslims must only wage war according to the principles of Allah's justice.

"Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of the Shaitan." Qur'an 4:76
Islam allows war in self-defence (Qur'an 22:39), to defend Islam (rather than to spread it), to protect those who have
been removed from their homes by force because they are Muslims (Qur'an 22:40), and to protect the innocent who are
being oppressed (Qur'an 4:75).

But some Muslim thinkers in the past, and some more radical Muslim thinkers today, take a different view. They say that
other verses in the Qur'an, the so-called "sword verses" have "abrogated" (revoked or anulled) the verses that permit
warfare only in defence. They used these "sword verses" to justify war against unbelievers as a tool of spreading Islam
(Qur'an 9:5, 9:29).
Others take this further and regard non-Muslims, and Muslims who don't conform rigorously to the Islamic code, as
non-believers and thus as "enemies of God" against whom it is legitimate to use violence .

But the idea of a total and unrestricted conflict is completely unIslamic.

"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not transgress limits. God does not love
transgressors." Qur'an 2:190
Islam is in favour of peace and against violence. Murdering the innocent leads to punishment in Hell:

"If anyone killed a person - unless it was for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he
killed the whole people"
Qur'an 5:32
The aims of war
The Qur'an emphasises that war should be fought only for noble motives without seeking any earthly reward:

"Those who readily fight in the cause of God are those who forsake this world in favor of the Hereafter. Whoever
fights in the cause of God, then gets killed, or attains victory, we will surely grant him a great recompense."
Qur'an 4:74
The conduct of war
Islam bans the killing of non-combatants (Qur'an 2:190 above), or of a combatant who has been captured.

Muslims are forbidden from attacking wounded soldiers (unless the wounded person is still fighting).

The Prophet's view of non-combatants is shown by a hadith in which Muhammad sees a woman killed in the battlefield and
condemns the action.

When an enemy is defeated he should be made prisoner rather than be killed:

"So when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make
(them) prisoners, and afterwards either set them free as a favor or let them ransom (themselves) until the war
terminates." (Qur'an 47:4)
Abu Bakr (the First Caliph) gave these rules to an army he was sending to battle:

"Do not commit treachery or deviate from the right path.

"You must not mutilate dead bodies.

"Neither kill a child, nor a woman, nor an aged man.

"Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful.

"Slay not any of the enemy's flock, save for your food.

"You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monastic services; leave them alone"
A noble example of ideal Muslim conduct of war is the capture of Jerusalem by Saladin in 1187. Although a number of holy
Muslim places had been violated by Christians, Saladin prohibited acts of vengeance, and his army was so disciplined
that there were no deaths or violence after the city surrendered. The residents were taken prisoner, but their ransom
was set at a token amount.

Three killed, 250 Injured In Kurdish Riots In Diyarbakir

DIYARBAKIR, (Northern Kurdistan), March 29, 2006 (AFP) Three people were
killed and 250 others injured in two days of violent clashes between Kurdish
youths and police that wreaked havoc in this southeastern Turkish city,
officials said Wednesday.

About 200 protestors were detained, Efkan Ala, the governor of Diyarbakir in
the mainly Kurdish southeast of the country, told reporters late in the
evening as the unrest abated.

Hundreds of Kurdish youths went on the rampage for a second day in
Diyarbakir Wednesday, hurling petrol bombs at the police and vandalizing
shops and public buildings, in what appeared to be the worst street battles
in southeast Turkey for years.

The two-decade Kurdish conflict has long impeded Turkey's bid to join the
European Union and continues to cast a pall on its commitment to democarcy
and human rights.

The violence broke out Tuesday following the funerals of four Kurdish
rebels, who were among 14 militants killed over the weekend in a military
operation against the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), when angry
mourners shouting "vengence" attacked the security forces.

On Wednesday, the army moved tanks to a garrison in the outskirts of
Diyarbakir as the authorities called in reinforcements from neighboring
regions, including paramilitary police and special commando forces.

Riot police, taking cover behind plastic shields, fired tear gas at the
protestors and sprayed them with pressurized water from armored vehicles,
also firing warning shots in the air.

About 600 paramilitary commandoes were deployed outside the governor's
office after protestors stoned the building.

Groups of angry youths, some wearing masks, pelted the security forces with
sticks and stones or petrol bombs, shouting slogans in favor of the PKK and
its jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The crowd burned down a bank and torched several vehicles Tuesday.

Ala identified one of the dead as a passer-by who was killed in a traffic
accident while running away from the trouble, and Diyarbakir Mayor Osman
Baydemir said two other victims died in hospital from firearms wounds.

Half of the injured were policemen, Ala said, adding that one person was in
serious condition.

The main Kurdish party, the Democratic Society Party (DTP), urged an end to
the violence, while blaming the unrest on Ankara's failure to meet Kurdish
demands for greater freedoms.

"The developments... have come to a point that will seriously harm both
democracy and our peoples' will to live together," Baydemir, a DTP member,
said. "What has happened is the result of the failure to find a permanent
and peaceful settlement to the Kurdish question."

Eager to boost its EU bid, Ankara has made a series of gestures to the
Kurds, including the inauguration of Kurdish-language broadcasts and private
courses teaching their tongue, but activists demand broader rights.

"No reason can justify such violence. You cannot resolve a problem by
creating bigger problems," Ala said, calling on residents for restraint.

In Ankara, Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu charged that the unrest was
instigated by the PKK, which has stepped up violence in the southeast since
calling off a five-year ceasefire in June 2004.

The foreign ministry said it was investigating whether the Denmark-based
pro-PKK Roj TV, which Turkey wants banned, had a role in fanning the
violence.

This world is preparing to go through a change in Time that it has not
seen in 248 years. The last time Pluto, the god of Transformation,
conjuncted the Galactic Center at 26 Sagittarius was approximately in
1745. At that time, the Industrial Revolution was just beginning. And
it changed the world from a farming/agricultural fabric to one of
machines in which man became a slave too. Now, in 2005, we have
computers and chips that are continuing to pioneer this technology.
When Pluto conjunct the GC in 1745, it set up a NEW TEMPLATE for the
world to resonate from and manifest.

We are at that juncture, that fork-in-the-road, once more. We have a
chance to BIRTH a new template. A conjunction in astrology means there
are no degrees between the two objects. In this case, Pluto is conjunct
the heart or center of our spiral armed galaxy that we live within.
Since 1987, when the Harmonic Convergence occurred, and the ratcheting
up
thereafter every June/July for nine years afterward, the energy got
more and more refined, and higher. We had been trying (unconsciously)
to adjust to this tremendous ramping and amping up of power and energy
that was being systematically released by the GC.

And then, in 2000, just when I thought we couldn't possibly stand any
more amping up of energy, our poor auric fields always playing
'catch-up' with this powerful new release, we entered a new level or
dais. Those who are sensitive or clairvoyant have not only felt, but
seen as well as experienced this new platform we are standing on. It
doesn't mean that all human beings have made this quantum leap to this
new level. It doesn't mean that those who made it to this level are
going to be able to handle the energy or Chaos that comes with it. We
are in one of the gravest testing periods for our soul and our spirit
right now. Every 2.5 centuries, we get a chance to make good, positive
changes for ourselves and our world. We are on the brink of such an
world altering event.

What will it bring?

What will be the tests?

How will it affect us as individuals?

How will it affect the world as a whole?

Will we be able to transcend or fall back into terrible human tragedy?

WARNINGS FROM HISTORY

The Mayans have said that we are in a destruction phase that will last
twelve years. I feel that 9/11 was the BEGINNING of this disintegration
phase that will be ongoing through the year 2013.

The Bible says it is the "End of Time" as we know it in the Book of
Revelations. The Hopi of Arizona have said Hopi Blue Star or Blue
Kachina Prophecy is coming shortly. The prophecy states, "When the Blue
Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the Fifth World will
emerge". This will be the Day of Purification. The Hopi name for the
star Sirius is Blue Star Kachina. It will come when the Saquasohuh

That time is not far off. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star)
Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. He represents a blue
star, far off and yet invisible, which will make its appearance soon.
The time is foretold by a song sung during the Wuwuchim ceremony. It
was sung in 1914 just before World War I, and again in 1940 before
World War II, describing the disunity, corruption, and hatred
contaminating Hopi rituals, which were followed by the same evils
spreading over the world. This same song was sung in 1961 during the
Wuwuchim ceremony. The Emergence to the future Fifth World has begun.
It is being made by the humble people of little nations, tribes, and

Plant forms from previous worlds are beginning to spring up as seeds
[as described in SW-II, Effects and Coming Events # 1]. This could
start a new study of botany if people were wise enough to read them.
The same kinds of seeds are being planted in the sky as stars. The same

depending how you look at them. That is what makes the Emergence to the

THE LAST TIME PLUTO CONJUNCT GALACTIC CENTER (GC)

That was 248 years ago, in 1745. This was at the beginning and birth of
the Industrial Revolution. And I would put emphasis upon "revolution"
because what occurred in England, ground zero for this new template
that swept the world into change. We went from an agrarian/farming way
of living for the last 100,000 years into a technical evolution that we
are in to this day, with computers and their nano chips, leading the
way. Be looking for a new template to be birthed in 2006-2007. And with
birth, it is NEVER easy or straight forward. Ask any woman whose had a
baby, and she'll tell you of the suffering and pain she went through to
give birth, and you get an idea of what is just ahead of us. All of us.

WE ARE IN CHAOS RIGHT NOW

As you can see, we are in Chaos. It is everywhere around us. All you
have to do is open up your newspaper, listen to the TV news or go
online to see it. Some people have become out-of-control monsters.
Incest of children, rape of women, mothers killing their children,
fathers killing their children, governments lying to their people and
religious hatreds spawning to create terrorism of all kinds and not
just limited to Islam. This also includes the fanatical Christian
Right, as well.

This is a world is in an unsavable tail spin and in what I call
"involution" or a destruction phase. You all have seen the following:
Rudeness is now acceptable. Respect is a forgotten word. Being
considerate of others is no longer around. Narcissism is in as never
before. People are polarized. There is only their way or no way.
Everything is black or white. There is no longer gray. Millions starve
in the world but no one cares. Wars have spawned since 2000 for no
reason other than a president who lied to the country--and the people
of the country believed him. There are lies, fraud and deceit
everywhere that we turn on high government levels to everyday life.

This creates a vacuum of confusion where people are panicking and don't
know where to turn. Those who feel this shift of consciousness but are
afraid of it, cling blindly to their faith and call it the "end of
Time." Others feel rudderless in a chaotic ocean of change around them,
feeling unmoored and floating without a sense of where they are going
or where they will land. Some feel like a stranger in a strange land,
no longer recognizing the world they used to live in--it has changed
THAT MUCH in preparation for the energy release that is yet to come.

The energy that has been released since 1987 is a much higher frequency
that most people have labored mightily, on an unconscious level, to
stay up with it or try to adjust or adapt to it. Most have failed. A
few have succeeded beautifully.

The rest of us are somewhere in between; the struggles daily in our
lives. Each of us has a unique auric frequency. Some resonate at a fast
pace; others, slow or somewhere in between. That energy from 1987,
onward, has come from our Galactic Center to prepare us for the quantum
leap that lies ahead of us in 2006 and 2007.

Will we be able to rise to the challenge?

I believe the Hopi are right: That there are spiritual beings, with
compassion and heart, just waiting to work in the revising of a world
in involution to a world of evolution.

But who are the Cosmic players in all of this? Pluto, the god of the
Underworld and Hades, the trans-neptune sensitive point, known as Hell,
are bound up in a spiritual dance with the Galactic Center for the next
several years. By looking at these planets we try to understand what is
about to occur and learn how to ride out this time of Chaos and improve
our spirit--and our heart--in the process. It will not be easy.

THE GALACTIC CENTER

We live in a spiral armed galaxy. In fact, Earth is near the end of one
of the 'arms.' The center of our galaxy is the hub of our universe in
microcosm. The center is considered our spiritual heart and home. It is
from this center that all energy for us, emanates.

ARE YOU TIED ASPECT-WISE TO THE GALACTIC CENTER (GC)?

Astrologically, anyone having any planet, the midheaven or rising sign
(ascendant) at 24, 25, 26, 27 or 28 degrees is going to have a
connection with the Galactic Center (GC). For example, my rising sign
is 27 Leo. That is a trine to the GC.

Whatever the aspect, you can look at it and know your standing with the
GC. A trine is as good as it gets--things come with ease, not struggle.
And I have a Mercury/Midheaven at 24 Taurus which is an inconjunct to
the GC. That's lots of struggle!

Anyone who is TOUCHED by the GC degree-wise, has an opportunity to lift
their spirit, improve themselves from a spiritually basis on a much
larger canvas than others. That does not mean, however, that those who
don't have an aspect to the GC are left out or abandoned--they are not.
Rather, it means those who have a connection are working double or
triple time on some spiritual aspect in this lifetime because of the
coming conjunction of Pluto with the GC. It is a 'make or break' kind
of opportunity. And it doesn't guarantee our making it, either. It
simply means we are more actively focused and working on a spiritually
related growth this lifetime more than most people.

One thing for sure as the 'battle for our hearts, minds and souls' is
joined starting early in 2006, those who have a degree near this 26th
degree is going to be up to their arse in alligators with no way to
change it. YOU are in the middle of a raging river with no support, no
help and nothing to aid you except your FAITH. And faith is what is
going to be tested for all of us spiritual neophytes. We are moving
into the biggest initiation in our lifetime. Are you ready for it? I am
sharing a meditation and some special/insightful things you might do to
help yourself during this coming time of utter chaos--to not only
survive it, but thrive, deepen your faith and help others all at the
same time.

SYMBOLOGY OF THE GALACTIC CENTER

What people need to realize is that the energy release that is to come,
comes from the HEART of our galaxy straight to us. And it's up to us to
do something with it. Whether it is positive or not, remains up to the
individual. I always hope it will lift the Earth and all its
inhabitants up by their bootstraps, but I'm an idealist, so it probably
won't happen this way. The key word here is HEART. Compassion, not pity
or sympathy. Take from the Buddhist teachings on Compassion and you
will begin to understand the opportunity that is now before us.

It's interesting to watch when someone hates you because of your belief
system, the color of your skin, or your gender or sexual preference
when you respond with LOVE. And this is exactly what is going to
happen--the GC is going to send wave after wave of intense, powerful
love toward the Earth and all its inhabitants. How will you react? Will
you release your anger, hatred, prejudice and projections? Will you
open your heart to what is coming? Or not? Those who do not, will go
through a destructive inner process if they refuse such a gift. Those
who run toward it, embrace it and work with this intense time period,
will find their heart healed at the end of this arduous initiation that
is going to take everything you
have ever learned, and put it to use in order to work successfully in
this time frame.

There are many souls who have incarnated this lifetime to take
advantage of the coming conjunction of Pluto with the Galactic Center
(GC). This happens once only every 248 years and it is an momentous
event on all levels and all dimensions. We have 50 yard seats on the
playing field of life, right now. Who will take advantage of it? Who
will not?

When there is a constant gearing up or amping up of energy as has taken
place since 1987 during the Harmonic Convergence to this point in 2005,
this shakes the foundation of everyone. No one is left untouched. HOW
we respond to it, however, is up to the individual. Let's look at the
'players' on our stage who are setting up this ultimate test for all of
us:

PLUTO, GOD OF TRANSFORMATION

At it's worst, Pluto symbolizes a human being's Shadow. This is a
Jungian term. Everyone of us owns a Shadow. The Shadow are those things
we don't like about ourselves; those things we push away and say "we're
not like that!" But we are. The Shadow is all of the rotten, nasty
things that human beings can lower themselves to become. Liars,
thieves, murderers, rapists, jealous, angry, envious, competitive,
arrogant, and the list goes on and on. What we do not integrate within
us is bound to bite us in the butt. What we do not integrate we PROJECT
out into the world and on people. And right now, Pluto is demanding
that we own and be responsible for our Shadow and its lurid, putrid,
infected contents. If we don't integrate it, we will be doomed by it.
Pluto can be a scourge. Think of Sudden Accute Respiratory Syndrome
(SARS) as a virus going around the world. Nuclear bombs were discovered
when Pluto was discovered; and we could be in a war with other
countries. The collapse of the world on so many different, fundamental
levels economically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. A world at
war, thanks to religion and religious moralists who think they know
what is right for everyone.

Pluto at its finest is about the hard work of transformation of our
spirit to a new level. That does not mean things get easier; they are
just different and it's like starting all over again. Pluto helps us
'burn off' that which we no longer need (nasty human vices, as
example), to free our spirit so that it can rise and connect more
solidly with the Creator. The myth of the Phoenix Bird fits Pluto
beautifully. The bird is flying and suddenly goes into a tailspins,
crashes into earth, explodes into flame and is burned up. Out of the
ashes, later, a new, more beautiful Phoenix Bird flies upward, reborn,
resurrected and better than before. That is what Pluto does for us--if
we allow it.

Pluto's orbit is shaped like an EGG. It is the only planet in our solar
system with this type of orbit. Therein lies some of the answers we're
seeking to understand what is going to happen and how to take advantage
of it in a healthy, positive way. The Cosmic Egg symbolizes spiritual,
physiological, and cosmological sense. Among other things, it stands
for primordial chaos, the universal matrix, the great Deep, the Virgin
Mother, and also for the cosmos or world egg produced from it. As chaos
or space, it is the virgin egg, unproduced; this is fructified by the
spiritual ray, and from it then issues the Third Logos. The Egg is
creator of all life.

We are about to have this Cosmic Egg cracked once again--and it can
either be a step up in our evolution or a step down into involution.
Pluto is at 22 Sagittarius July 3, 2005. The Galactic Center is 26
Sagittarius. In February, 2006, the cracking begins. But, as if Pluto
was not enough to do this, we have Hades involved as well.

HADES, PLANET OF HELL

A trans-neptune planet, Hades is known as the planet of "dust to dust"
(See article on Hades). It grinds and wears something down until it is
utterly destroyed. When one dies and the body decays and eventually
crumbles back into elements absorbed by the Earth, you get an idea of
Hades in action. It is known as the planet of the "doctor and derelict"
and the healer and the destroyer.

Hades is about antiquity and history. Do we learn from the past or not?
If we don't, Hades will come in to remind us one more time that we
should. What we don't learn from history we are bound to repeat. Hades,
in Greek mythology, was the Underworld or Hell. Pluto was the god of
that place. He dealt with dying and death. If we want to take this
symbolism of Hades and apply it to the fact that it is opposite the
Galactic Center, in Gemini, it is about our spirits being burned off,
like the Phoenix Bird, so that we can be rebirthed and resurrected into
a newer and better one.

Right now, as far as I'm concerned, we have Hell here on Earth. Looking
at news headlines says it all. We're in a war in Iraq we had no
business getting into. We have millions around the globe starving when
we could do something to help them.

We have corporate greed ascending and humanity descending. There is no
longer right from wrong, there is money and who has it--and who does
not. Humanity no longer counts. Money and the bottom line counts,
instead. Respect is replaced with daily rudeness. We have the Christian
Right trying to tell us not only how to live, but what to believe. What
happened to the division of church and state in this country? It's
becoming a theocracy under this Born Again president. That's not what
this country was founded on, but never mind that. It is all back
sliding, moving into oblivion and the changes are frightening.
Democracy is threatened to its core. Women, as an equal, is also being
challenged once again. We have descended into Hell.

With Hades opposed to the Galactic Center, it is holding the tension of
opposites, literally and figuratively speaking. An opposition aspect is
one of friction. In other words, nothing manifests without a lot of
energy being poured into the situation. An opposition is supposed to
give people a clarity of mind--to see BOTH sides of an argument or
situation. To be aware. To SEE. Right now, there is no seeing the other
side here on Earth. Everyone is entrenched and polarized, instead. And
this is a choice we made, so Hades is going to drag us, kicking and
screaming, into the other side of this aspect so we can see all sides,
not just our own. And it won't be pleasant.

DATES TO WATCH

Forewarned is forearmed. The following dates are to be watched and
taken advantage of by those who want to utilize this period for
spiritual motivation and evolvement (See Galactic Center Meditation at
the end of this article). There is no doubt that this coming period
could put us in the garbage can, so to speak. Pluto and Hades don't
play around and they're brutal teachers without remorse when it comes
to us towing the rope and being responsible for our own thoughts and
actions in the world. And, as with any planet, astrologically speaking,
it has two sides to it--a healthy expression and an unhealthy one. It
is always our choice to bring this energy into ourselves and how it
expresses through us.

If I want to say that the worst can happen; such as a nuclear incident,
a pandemic where SARS kills billions, assassinations of world leaders,
a move to control the world by one or more countries, secretive Big
Brother actions by governments, destruction of the environment, lethal
pollution in our water and air, or other such horrific atrocities, are
all possibilities in 2006 and 2007.

On the positive side, this is a time of the snake shedding her/his
skin; a chance for renewal, a movement up in evolution on a spiritual
template. It can also mean deep psychological work to deal with our
wounds and begin the healing journey through them.

Remember, a conjunction means: birth, creation, the start of something
new, a new template, a new way of thinking, believing or living your
life on every level (spiritual, mental, emotional and physical) an
opposition means: awareness and taking action and making final
decisions an inconjunct means: you are caught between a rock and hard
place and nowhere to go. It's like having to take medicine you know you
can't refuse. It means things are completely out of your control and
you are along for the ride; so adapt and be flexible. Don't be stubborn
or this aspect will take you down in a millisecond. A trine means
things move with ease; there are no blocks, no obstructions as energy
flows smoothly.

EVENTS AS THEY UNFOLD IN 2006-2007

February 4, 2006: Pluto moves to 26 Sagittarius and conjuncts the
Galactic Center for the first time in 248 years. Hades is 23 Gemini,
three degrees away from the GC. SPIRITUALLY: The first meditation
should be done today.

February 10-11, 2006: Mars is at 26 Taurus and makes an INCONJUNCT to
Pluto and the GC. Mars is a trigger planet, a catalyst. Mars rules:
war, fever as in an epidemic virus, assaults, attacks and violence.
Positively, it rules peak energy times and nonstop action. It also
rules energy and power. SPIRITUALLY: utilize Mars for a powerful
reconnection with the GC during meditation.

March 1-31, 2006: Pluto is conjunct the GC all month long. This month
is the beginning of a test, a marathon, if you will, that will last
through the end of 2007. Hades is at 23 Gemini all month and is close
enough to create its own kind of Chaos. March will give us a look at
what the issues are for us, individually as well as for the world as a
whole. SPIRITUALLY: Try to meditate every day if possible to build up
power and holding this energy within you. With Hades so near, use this
time to work on your wounds and the healing of them.

March 29, 2006: Pluto goes RETROGRADE at 26 Sagittarius conjunct the
GC. The energy begins to ease off a bit. SPIRITUALLY: If you meditate
on this day, be aware that the energy is going to be chaotic and be
prepared for the bumps that come along with it.

April 1-30, 2006: Pluto is conjunct but RETROGRADE on the GC all month
long. This month is the beginning of a test, a marathon, if you will,
that will last through the end of 2007. The energy is going to be less
powerful, but this is a time to work on wounds. A second month of this
kind of energy being thrown at us is going to put everyone on tenter
hooks. Hades is at 23 and 24 degrees Gemini all month and is close
enough to create its own kind of Chaos. April will give us a look at
what the issues are for us, individually as well as for the world as a
whole. SPIRITUALLY: Try to meditate every day if possible to build up
power and holding this energy within you. With Hades so near, use this
time to work on your wounds and the healing of them.

April 2-5, 2006: Mars is at 23 to 24 Gemini and conjuncts Hades which
is in opposition to Pluto/GC. This is a powerful set of days and with
Mars at the helm as a trigger, there can be some awful events occur.
Mars rules: war, fever as in an epidemic virus, assaults, attacks and
violence. Positively, it rules peak energy times and nonstop action.
SPIRITUALLY: I would change my meditation to see peace from the GC
flowing through myself and then surrounding the world, via my heart
chakra, with the gold and white light, to help create some kind of calm
during this storm of events.

April 7-8, 2006: Mars is opposite Pluto and the GC. This is the 'big
one' and some global event could occur at this time. Mars rules: war,
fever as in an epidemic virus, assaults, attacks and violence.
Positively, it rules peak energy times and nonstop action. SPIRITUALLY:
meditate on each of these days understanding that there is a lot of
power around. Keep your intent to be grounded, calm and send peace
around the globe.

May 1-23, 2006: Pluto is conjunct but RETROGRADE on the GC all month
long. This month is the beginning of a test, a marathon, if you will,
that will last through the end of 2007. The energy is going to be less
powerful, but this is a time to work on wounds. A second month of this
kind of energy being thrown at us is going to put everyone on tenter
hooks. Hades is at 24 degrees Gemini all month and is close enough to
create its own kind of Chaos. April will give us a look at what the
issues are for us, individually as well as for the world as a whole.
SPIRITUALLY: Try to meditate every day if possible to build up power
and holding this energy within you. With Hades so near, use this time
to work on your wounds and the healing of them.

May 28-29,2006: Mars is at 26 Cancer which is INCONJUNCT Pluto and the
GC. Look for this time to be one of an event that no one can control or
stop. This could potentially be one, last horrific act in a long play
that started in March, 2006. Mars rules: war, fever as in an epidemic
virus, assaults, attacks and violence. Positively, it rules peak energy
times and nonstop action. SPIRITUALLY: meditate on each of these days
understanding that there is a lot of power around. Keep your intent to
be grounded, calm and send peace around the globe.

FINALLY, we get a rest from this intense amount of events and energy as
Pluto moves off the GC to 25 Sagittarius.

September 5, 2006: Pluto goes DIRECT at 24 Sagittarius, two degrees
away from the GC. Look for MAJOR transformation and chaos on this day.
Pluto will now move TOWARD the GC. However, Hades is exact opposite of
the GC at 26 Gemini, so there will be little abatement from what is
going on. It is doubtful this shift will be noticeable from the
intensity standpoint. SPIRITUALLY: meditate on each of these days
understanding that there is a lot of power around. Keep your intent to
be grounded, calm and send peace around the globe.

December 3-30, 2006: Pluto arrives at 26 Sagittarius to once more,
conjunct the Galactic Center. Hades is at 25 Gemini, one degree from an
opposition with Pluto/GC. Saturn goes retrograde at 25 Leo on December
6. Saturn TRINES the Pluto/GC and sextiles Hades, so this should
provide some leavening of action, less intensity and a quieting down
and more focus on where this energy is to be acting on a personal
level, as well as worldwide. There is a grace period with Saturn here.
This is the LAST TIME Pluto will be conjunct the Galactic Center for
another 248 years. SPIRITUALLY: Try to meditate every day if possible
to build up power and holding this energy within you. With Hades so
near, use this time to work on your wounds and the healing of them.
There should be some welcome breakthroughs, spiritually speaking for
anyone who has been actively working with this energy all year long at
this time. The "end of Time" has come and gone. For those who held the
energy, stayed in their core throughout this extremely intense
initiation, reward is on its way to you.

GALACTIC CENTER MEDITATION

I don't want to be Chicken Little screaming, "The sky is falling! The
sky is falling!" Rather, I look at this amped up frequency of energy
since 1987 as an opportunity to take advantage of instead of acting
like a victim who is helpless to do anything. Granted, it has been a
tough time since 1987 and it's not getting any better--it is getting
remarkably worse remarkably fast. It takes my breath away, too.

That said, my training all my life has taught me and shown me that
every person counts. If one heart-centered person stands in the midst
of a hundred screaming, chaotic, losing-their-mind people, it CAN and
WILL make a difference. Just as in a meadow of green, one bright yellow
flower draws your attention, then one person can do the same,
energetically. Why is this important? Because the more of us that stand
in our center; be that bright yellow flower who stands out in the
meadow, we can help not only ourselves, but Mother Earth and all her
relations, as well. This is not a selfish place; it is a place of
compassion and being in the heart. After all, the GC is the "heart" of
our universe where we live and the energy coming is heart centered for
all of us.

Here is a meditation that you can utilize to help integrate the coming
energy. I will be listing the dates of when this energy is going to be
at its peak so that you can be there to take advantage of it as well as
be a part of it for all our relations. If you will perform this
meditation on the days indicated, for at least 20 minutes a day, then
you'll be in a good space for what is to come.

1. For western style meditation sit in a straight-backed chair in a
relaxed position. This position may be used by anyone. It is the
position used by some of the ancients and western meditators throughout
the ages. If you cannot sit, you can lie down with a pillow beneath
your knees to support your lower back. Don't forget a pillow for your
head as well. Eastern style meditation you may adopt sitting on the
floor with legs crossed in the folded lotus position. Stretch your
body, then feel, tense and relax any contracted areas. Do this several
times. Become aware of your body and all its parts and inch by inch
relax.

2. You may want to imagine a string at the top of your head pulling
your spine erect. Feel the vertebrae of your spine gently stretched and
your spine elongated and then mentally place each vertebrae beginning
at the bottom of your spine, one upon the other, until your whole spine
feels aligned. Then hold the position, but relax into a comfortable
state.

3. Now, Visualize yourself within an Egg shaped field which extends
outward above your crown to below/beneath your feet. It is extending in
all directions at least 3 feet from your body.

4. Ground yourself now, by imaging silver roots of a tree wrapping
gently around your ankles and the tip of the root down through your
feet and at least a hundred feet down into Mom Earth.

5. In your brow or behind your eyes, imagine seeing our spiral armed
galaxy. At the core or center of it, there is beautiful white and gold
light throbbing and emanating from it. Draw this light from there and
into your aura. Imagine this living light energy above your head, the
sacred white/gold energy from the spiral and you draw it down through
the top of your head and into your body.

6. Anchor this light in your heart area. Breathe naturally, feel the
beating of your heart and your breath and allow them to become as one:
at some point your breathing and heart will be in a natural rhythm. You
will notice that you become peaceful.

7. On the in breath, feel and imagine the light coming into your body.
As you exhale, allow the light to expand and fill your head, then your
shoulders and arms, then allow the light to fill your torso area, then
allow the light to fill your legs and feet.

8. Continue to draw the Galactic Center light down through each of the
chakras; allow the light to expand to fill your body from each chakra.
After you feel that your whole body is filled with light, allow the
light to expand past your body to fill the field of the circle then the
whole of the Auric region until you can feel it three feet around your
body in all directions. Imagine that the outer edge of this sphere is
solid and impenetrable. You may see your entire aura 'breathe' or
expand/contract as this heart energy from our galaxy throbs in wavelike
motion into you and your energy field. Maintain this space for at least
15-20 minutes or longer if you like.

Notes: This is a heart meditation with the center of our galaxy. You
may not be able to handle more than five minutes of it at first, but
the more you do it, the more you attune yourself to this frequency of
energy being released. You will always fill uplifted and peaceful
during and after the meditation.

THE DANCING ISRAELIS

Like most Americans, I was gripped by senses of profound shock, horror,
revulsion, sadness, and rage as I watched the horror of September 11, 2001
unfolding live on my television screen. Watching the mass murder of
thousands of innocent people live on television was the most upsetting
experience of my life. How could any person of sound moral character not be
enraged at witnessing this horrific act of barbarism? To read about some
faraway, long-ago genocide in a newspaper or a book is distressing enough.
But to actually witness the mass murders of what was, at first, believed to
have been tens of thousands of innocent people is truly heart stopping and
traumatic. I barely slept for two nights afterwards and suffered nightmares.
Polling data would later reveal that 65% of Americans actually shed tears on
9-11. (1)

But not all of the eye-witnesses to the 9-11 slaughter were so saddened. On
September 11, five Israeli army veterans were arrested by the FBI after
several witnesses saw them "dancing", "high-fiving", and "celebrating" as
they took pictures of the World Trade Center disaster from across the river
in New Jersey. Steven Gordon was the lawyer who volunteered to represent the
five Israelis. He was asked by a Hebrew newspaper why the five men were
being detained by the FBI. Here's what Gordon told Yediot America:

"On the day of the disaster, three of the five boys went up on the roof of
the building where the company office is located," said Gordon. "I'm not
sure if they saw the twin towers collapse, but, in any event, they
photographed the ruins right afterwards. One of the neighbors who saw them
called the police and claimed they were posing, dancing and laughing,
against the background of the burning towers..

"Anyhow, the three left the roof, took an Urban truck, and drove to a
parking lot, located about a five-minute drive from the offices. They
parked, stood on the roof of the truck to get a better view of the destroyed
towers and took photographs. A woman who was in the building above the lot
testified that she saw them smiling and exchanging high-fives. She and
another neighbor called the police and reported on Middle-Eastern looking
people dancing on the truck. They copied and reported the license plates.

The Ha'aretz new service of Israel reported:

"The Foreign Ministry said it had been informed by the consulate in New York
that the FBI had arrested the five for "puzzling behavior." They are said to
have had been caught videotaping the disaster and shouting in what was
interpreted as cries of joy and mockery." (2b) (emphasis added)

Ha'aretz went on to describe how the FBI field agents then subjected the
five Israelis to days of brutal interrogation, torture, and solitary
confinement.

When their photos were developed, it was revealed that the dancing Israelis
were smiling in the foreground of the New York massacre. (3) According to
ABC's 20/20 attempted whitewash of the incident, in addition to their
outrageous and highly suspicious behavior, the five also had in their
possession the following items; box-cutters, European passports, and $4700
cash hidden in a sock. (4)

Why were these Israeli agents so happy about the horrible massacre that was
unfolding right before their very eyes? What evil spirit could possess
people who are supposed to be America's "allies", and who receive billions
of dollars in financial and military aid from US taxpayers each year , to
publicly rejoice as innocent people (including many American jews) were
burning to death and jumping out of 110 story buildings? Could it be that
these happy Israeli army veterans were in some way linked to this monstrous
attack? That's what officials close to the investigation initially told The
Bergen Record newspaper of New Jersey. (5)

As incredible, as ridiculous, and as "paranoid" as that belief may appear to
you at this point, the fact is that certain elements within the Israeli
government, and International Zionist movement in general, have a long
history of attacking the USA and framing Arabs in order to gain support from
the US. Before we begin to piece together what really transpired on 9-11, it
is absolutely critical that we first review some historical precedents
regarding Israel's and International Zionism's treacherous history of
manipulating America (and other nations) for their own selfish purposes.
Without a basic understanding of this history, it would be impossible to
understand the truth as it is today. So put aside your preconceived notions,
your psychological defense mechanisms, and your prejudices, and step into my
time machine for a journey down the memory hole.

residentes en Cuba en 1843. Los datos fueron tomados de microfilms de los
Archivos Diplomáticos del Ministerio de Relaciones Exterioras de Francia. La
transcripción fue hecha por uno de nuestros lectores, Emmanuel de la

Todo en el documento está en Francés. Para su conveniencia hemos
traducido los cabezales de las columnas en el mismo documento. Las
siguientes notas nos fueron proveidas por Emmanuel:
a.. La ortografia de algunos nombres fue dificil de determinar
y es posible me haya equivocado en la selección ("a" en vez de "o", "n" en
vez de "rr", "sn" en vez de "m", "s" en vez de "r", etc...). Donde tenía
duda he puesto posibles alternativas.
b.. Una "cavallerie" equivale a 10 "carreaux" y un "carreau"

Traducción al español de mis mensajes anteriores sobre la imigración
francesa en Cuba, con correcciones y adiciones:

Han habido largas discusiones en Cuba-L en el pasado sobre la
imgración
francesa en Cuba. Creo que si buscan en los archivos de Cuba-L las
encontrarán.

La primera gran ola de imigración francesa a Cuba arrivó via
Saint-Domingue (Haití entre 1792-1809, durante la lucha de esa colonia
por su indedepencia de Francia, cuando muchos colonos franceses y sus
esclavos se refugiaron en Oriente, Cuba. Los números varian de acuerdo
a la fuente pero la cifra que más se repite es que esa gran ola llegó
a
ser de más o menos 30,000 imigrantes. La obra "Cuba: Economia y
sociedad" del eminente geógrafo cubano Levi Marrero documenta con
detalles esa imigración y su impacto económico y cultural en Cuba.
También recomiendo el libro "The Road to Louisiana" editado por Carl
A.
Brasseau y Glenn R. Conrad, que incluye la traducción de un articulo
seminal del historiador francés Gabriel Desbien sobre los refugiados
franceses en Cuba. Esas dos obras ofrecen una excelente introducción
al
tema.

Sin embargo, como señala Levi Marrero, la imigración francesa via
Haiti atrajo otra imigración francesa a Cuba, directamente desde
Francia
y de otras colonias francesas, llegando a ser una presencia muy
substancial y variada con el pasar de las décadas. La mayor parte se
concentró en Oriente, en Santiago y sus cercanias, y particularmente
en
Guantánamo, hasta el punto de que en esta ciudad hubo un periodo en el
siglo 19 cuando el idioma principal que hablaban sus habitantes era el
francés.

Es una historia muy interesante! Los franceses contribuyeron mucho a
la economia y a la cultura de Cuba en el siglo 19, insertando a Cuba
en
la economia global (exportando café y otros productos) e introduciendo
a
los cubanos a la gran tradición de teatro francés y a otras influencia
culturales europeas. Pero eran detestados por los elementos más
conservadores de la Iglesia en Cuba e inspiraban desconfianza en los
sectores más fieles a la Corona española. Eran considerados
culturalmente muy "liberales" y políticamente "infectados" por ideales
republicanos. Muchos fueron expulsados de Cuba cuando Napoléon invadió
a España en 1808, aunque los que habian adoptado la nacionalidad
española, y/o tenian influencia, buenos amigos y buenas conexiones,
evitaron la expulsión. La gran parte de los expulsados se fueron a
Louisiana, incluyendo unos cuantos esclavos y ex-esclavos de
Saint-Domingue. A ese episodio se debe, en parte, la conexión de Cuba
con los orígenes del jazz, que tiene raízes musicales en la "tumba
francesa" llevada a Cuba por los esclavos haitianos. Después de 1815,
cuando las relaciones entre Francia y España se normalizaron, muchos
de
los franceses-cubanos en Louisiana volvieron a Cuba, pero no todos.

Recibí recientemente una información muy interesante de otro miembro
de Cuba-L. Es una copia de un "Registro de Ciudadania" de Cuba en
1897-1898 que se encuentra en el Archivo Nacional en La Habana.
Contiene los nombres y otras informaciónes de residentes en Cuba que
se
registraron como extranjeros durante esos dos años. Los más numerosos,
por mucho, son los franceses, 129. El segundo grupo más numeroso son
los británicos, 61. No creo que ese Registro sea una lista completa de
todos los extranjeros residentes en Cuba durante esos dos años, pero
sí
me parece que la proporción entre franceses y otras nacionalidades es
bastante representativa de la realidad de la época.

Además de lo anterior, he encontrado hoy en mis archivos otros
detalles
interesantes que coloco a seguir:

"La imigración de los franceses no era cosa rara en Santiago de Cuba
ya mucho antes de acaecer los acontecimientos revolucionarios de Santo
Domingo. De los extranjeros que en los años de 1688 a 1788 contrajeron
el matrimonio en la Iglesia Catedral de Santiago de Cuba, 36 provenian
de Francia. Otros 23 eran oriundos de distintos Estados de Italia, 10
de Portugal, 9 de Irlanda, 5 de Flanders, 5 de Inglaterra, 2 de
Córcega,
2 de Malta, 1 de Guarico, 1 de Alemania (?), 1 de Nueva Inglaterra, 1
de
Jamaica, 1 de Holanda, y 1 de la isla San Cristobal."

Guarico era como llamaban a Haití en esos tiempos.

Y este otro detalle histórico sobre uno de nuestros compatriotas
cubanos de descendencia francesa:

"Paul Lafargue nació en Santiago de Cuba en 1842 en una familia de
extracción francesa. Su educación fué en español y entre sus maestros
hubo varios poetas nacionalistas. Se fué a Francia con su familia en
1851, donde estudió farmacia y medicina. En 1865 conoció a Karl Marx
en
la Primera Internacional en Londres......Se mudó a Londres donde
estudió
y escribió en periodicos de izquierda, y se casó con Laura, la segunda
hija de Marx, en 1869. Fué un gran activista en causas de defensa a
derechos de los trabajadores. Publicó, entre varias obras, una famosa
fuerte crítica a la ética puritana del trabajo, titulada, "El Derecho
a
la Pereza", y fué considerado un pensador brillante. En 1911, se
suicidó junto con su esposa, la también activista Laura Marx, cuando
ambos tenian 70 años, habiendo decidido que no tenian nada más que
contribuir a la causa a la que le habian dedicado sus vidas. Dejaron
descendientes."

Les agraderé cualquier otra referencia bibliográfica que me puedan
pasar sobre la imigración francesa y los franceses en Cuba.

Guillermo Fariñas Hernández, Psicólogo y Director de la Agencia
Independiente Cubanacán Press, se declaró en huelga de hambre y sed el
pasado 31 de enero del presente año, en la ciudad de Santa Clara, Cuba,
demandando a que el gobierno de Castro le instale libre acceso a Internet
desde su hogar. Hasta el momento, el régimen se ha negado a cumplir esta
demanda y el Dr. Fariñas, está a punto de morir. Apelamos a la conciencia de
todas las personas de buena voluntad que reciban este llamado urgente, para
que se exija al régimen de Fidel Castro, se le permita al Dr. Fariñas acceso

Democrats Will Use Immigration to Divide and Conquer

It reads like a page directly out of the Democrat's playbook on
midterm elections. Let Republicans self-destruct by splitting from
their base on a core issue. Senate Republicans this week will decide
if the federal government will respond to 89 percent of Americans who
believe illegal immigration is a serious problem.

Any bill that does not refuse amnesty, and require true border and
internal enforcement will collapse public confidence in the GOP
Congress, and therefore be the breaking point of the Republican Party.
The bill passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee rewards lawbreakers
with amnesty, plain and clear.

The temporary worker/amnesty bill from the Senate Judiciary Committee
will cause every Democrat in Congress will jump onto it, because they
know that this single issue is the opportunity to divide and conquer.
If anything costs Republicans the majority this November, it will be
this amnesty bill in the Senate that they are trying to force-feed to
Congress and the American people.

In the face of bitter opposition from the majority of American
citizens, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed a bill to reward
millions of illegal aliens with legal worker status -- despite the
fact these aliens have already proven their disregard for the laws of
this nation. Beyond sending a message to potential residents and legal
immigrants that we don't take our own laws seriously, this is a
misguided and dangerous path for our nation, particularly in a post
9/11 world.

Any policy that reduces or eliminates the penalty for violating our
immigration laws is amnesty. It is disingenuous for any lawmaker to
claim they are against amnesty, but support these temporary worker
amnesty programs.

Economically, these programs don't help our country, but hinder its
growth. Americans are conditioned to believe that illegal aliens
support our workforce, because they supposedly take jobs Americans
will not do. The reality is, employers hire illegal workers who will
work for much less than legal workers, driving wages down and making
it impossible for legal workers to compete. There is no job Americans
will not do. The hottest, most difficult, dirtiest and dangerous job
in the world is rooting terrorists out of Fallujah. Marines are doing
that job for $8.09 an hour.

The core of the strength of America has always been an ever-broadening
middle class. The flood of immigration, both legal and illegal
threatens an eventual destruction of the middle class and is resulting
in the creation of a servant class. We cannot stand by while our
middle class is eroded so that the ruling class in America can create
a servant class for themselves.

We can stop illegal workers from taking jobs in the U.S. My New
Illegal Deduction Elimination Act, or New IDEA, H.R. 3095, would
eliminate the tax deduction employers can take on wages and benefits
paid to illegal workers so it becomes a taxable event. The result
would be to raise the cost of a $10 per hour illegal to a $16 per hour
worker, creating the opportunity for American workers, shutting down
the jobs magnet and broadening our middle class.

In addition, it would be ludicrous to base our national and economic
security policy on the promise that temporary workers will return home
once their worker permit expires. There has never been a successful
temporary worker program in history.

History has proven time and again that legalizing the illegals won't
solve the problem, it only serves to exacerbate it. Since 1986,
Congress has passed seven amnesties for illegal aliens. The mass
amnesty bill passed in 1986 that legalized 3 million aliens backfired,
and the illegal alien population quickly doubled in a decade and
tripled in less than 15 years. Further, dangling the prospect of
citizenship in front of potential lawbreakers will only spur a mad
stampede for the U.S. border to get in line for the next amnesty.

As a sovereign nation, we must control our borders and enforce our own
laws. Ignoring our laws is not the path to maintaining a free, safe
and prosperous society.

The House passed a comprehensive immigration reform policy in December
that provides tools to secure America's future. H.R. 4437 does not
reward any amnesty program and includes heavier border enforcement and
construction of a border fence. The bill also provides for real
enforcement in our interior, reduces the jobs magnet by requiring
worker verification, and invokes penalties for local governments that
provide sanctuary for illegal aliens.

The Senate must use these provisions as a baseline for their debate.
This issue has pushed fed-up Americans to the abyss, and if we don't
take the right turn, we deserve to be pushed into it.

Rep. King was elected to Iowa's 5th District in 2002. He sits on the
House Judiciary Committee and its Constitution and Immigration
subcommittees.
