Activists turn tables, offer no amnesty for 'non-indigenous' on 'our
continent'

WASHINGTON - While debates about guest-worker programs for illegal
aliens take place in the corridors of power, in the streets of
America's big cities no amnesty is being offered by activists calling
for the expulsion of most U.S. citizens from their own country.

While politicians debate the fate of some 12 million people residing in
the U.S. illegally, the Mexica Movement, one of the organizers of the
mass protest in Los Angeles this week, has already decided it is the
"non-indigenous," white, English-speaking U.S. citizens of European
descent who have to leave what they call "our continent."

The pictures and captions tell the story.

"This is our continent, not yours!" exclaimed one banner.

"We are indigenous! The only owners of this continent!" said another.

"If you think I'm illegal because I'm a Mexican, learn the true
history, because I'm in my homeland," read another sign.

The group insists the indigenous people of the continent were the
victims of genocide - a campaign of extermination that killed,
according to one citation, 95 percent of their population, or 33
million people. Another citation on the same website claims the toll
was 70 million to 100 million.

Mexican Reconquista:

Leader Says California Will Be First 'Hispanic' State.

June 7, 2000

Stephan Archer

Source: newsmax.com

"I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the
territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an
important --- a very important part --- of this."

This statement wasn't made in secrecy behind closed doors. It wasn't
said outside the jurisdiction of the United States of America. None
other than Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo spoke it in Chicago on
July 23, 1997.

Speaking before the National Council of La Raza, Zedillo went on to
say, "For this reason, my government proposed a constitutional
amendment to allow any Mexican with the right and the desire to
acquire another nationality to do so without being forced to first
give up his or her Mexican nationality."

This amendment is significant for more than just the obvious reason.
It is nearly impossible to obtain Mexican citizenship unless you can
prove you are Mexican or are of Mexican descent.

If you are neither, you must prove that you have completely adopted
Mexican culture and lifestyle. Yet a Mexican citizen can, in essence,
acquire another nationality and remain a Mexican. Is this a double
standard?

Glenn Spencer, president of Voice of Citizens Together and radio talk
show host of American Patrol Report, thinks so. But he thinks there's
something more sinister to the Mexican president's decree than one
might think.

"This is an invasion of the United States in a very classic way with
all of the classic objectives of an invasion without using bullets,"
Spencer said.

Spencer added he believed Mexico is allowing this so that those people
with dual citizenship may vote in the interest of Mexico in the United
States.

The ultimate goal of this invasion, Spencer contends, is to reclaim
the American Southwest --- an area including California, Arizona,
Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas.

Known as Aztlan by Hispanic activists, these states make up what used
to be Mexican territory before treaties and wars gave the land to the
United States.

Some Hispanic activists deny that there is any sort of organized
effort to take over these states and reclaim it for Mexico.

However, Jose Pescador Osuna, who was once the Mexican consul general
in Los Angeles, has been quoted on the record as saying, "Even though
I'm saying this part serious and part joking, I believe we are
practicing 'La Reconquista' in California."

"La Reconquista" means "the reconquest" and refers to the taking over
of the U.S. Southwest. Osuna now is an agent of the Mexican government
and works for migration in Mexico City.

Even though these statements have been made on American soil, Mario
Obledo of the California Coalition of Hispanic Organizations said the
"radical" Aztlan movement died in the 1960s.

Obledo, a resident of Sacramento, Calif., explained that his
organization tries to secure the civil rights of Mexican-Americans
"and others similarly situated."

Although claiming a profound faith in America, he's also proud of the
fact that the majority of Californians in the next few years will be
Hispanic.

"California is going to be a Hispanic state," Obledo said. "Anyone who
doesn't like it should leave."

Obledo further added: "Every constitutional office in California is
going to be held by Hispanics in the next 20 years. It's a fact of
life. That's all.

All of those propositions --- 187, 209, and whatever --- is a backlash
due to the insecurities of the majority population. That's all. But
all those measures are going to be reversed one of these days."

Proposition 187 was the California initiative supported by a majority
of Californians that denied taxpayer funds for services to
non-citizens.

Proposition 209 was another initiative supported by a majority of
Californians that banned affirmative action, that is, prohibited
preferential treatment in the work place and public schools and
universities.

Speaking at a Latino gathering in response to Proposition 187's
passage in 1995, Art Torres, the chairman of the California Democratic
Party, said: "Power is not given to you. You have to take it.
Remember, 187 is the last gasp of white America in California."

But if Mexico is to reclaim the U.S. Southwest, how will it be done?

Spencer believes that with the increasing unrest along the
U.S.-Mexican border, the U.S. Border Patrol will eventually become
overwhelmed, requiring the U.S. Army to take action.

With increasing unrest and military presence all along the border, the
current border will be erased and a new border zone stretching 150
miles from the current border into the United States will be put in
place.

Although this may sound impossible, President Clinton has already
issued an executive order that could put such a border zone in place.

Executive Order 13122, signed by the president May 25, 1999,
established an Interagency Task Force on the Economic Development of
the Southwest Border.

The purpose of the task force is to "coordinate and better leverage
existing Administration efforts for the Southwest Border, in concert
with locally led efforts to increase the living standards and the
overall economic profile of the Southwest Border so that it may
achieve the average of the Nation."

Down toward the bottom of the executive order, it adds, "The Southwest
Border or Southwest Border region is defined as including the areas up
to 150 miles north of the United States-Mexican border in the States
of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and California."

Spencer believes this inclusion in the executive order is little more
than a mechanism of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) to
erase the border by creating a border "zone" instead of a border line.

"It's an attempt to gradually erase the border," Spencer said.

Spencer has been speaking about his scenario of an "Aztlan invasion"
on the radio for some time now, and it has drawn considerable
attention, including death threats.

Referring to a banner he saw at California State University,
Northridge that read "Aztlan Graduation," Spencer concluded: "This is
an invasion of the United States.

I believe it's going to end up in a war, and I believe it's going to
be so much worse because Clinton has sold us down the river."

--
"Screw the Republicans. Vote Democratic in the U.S. House and tell the
Democrats to impeach Bush. Republicans have proven that when they
control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency that they will drive
the country over the cliff with support for illegal immigration and
uncontrolled spending."

"I prefer to have President Cheney with a chastened Republican minority
in the House, that remembers WHY they got the boot."

The mainstream (controlled) United States Media has been totally
ignoring the ongoing fiasco in Iraq for the past two days. Not a
single report concerning the war or its resulting casualties has
been reported.

Meanwhile, illegal Mexican immigration (an ongoing issue that has been
confronting America for decades) is being used as a convenient
diversionary subject to divert public attention away from Iraq.

Scores injured in Kurdish riots in Turkey

March 30 2006 at 02:25AM

By Mahmut Bozarslan

Diyarbakir, Turkey - Three people were killed and 250 others were injured in
two days of violent clashes between Kurdish youths and police that wreaked
havoc in this south-eastern Turkish city, officials said on Wednesday.

About 200 protesters were detained, Efkan Ala, the governor of Diyarbakir in
the mainly Kurdish southeast of the country, told reporters late in the
evening as the unrest abated.

Hundreds of Kurdish youths went on the rampage for a second day in
Diyarbakir Wednesday, hurling petrol bombs at the police and vandalising
shops and public buildings, in what appeared to be the worst street battles
in south-east Turkey for years.

The two-decade Kurdish conflict has long impeded Turkey's bid to join the
European Union and continues to cast a pall on its commitment to democracy
and human rights.

The violence broke out on Tuesday following the funerals of four Kurdish
rebels, who were among 14 militants killed over the weekend in a military
operation against the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), when angry
mourners shouting "vengeance" attacked the security forces.

On Wednesday, the army moved tanks to a garrison in the outskirts of
Diyarbakir as the authorities called in reinforcements from neighbouring
regions, including paramilitary police and special commando forces.

Riot police, taking cover behind plastic shields, fired tear gas at the
protesters and sprayed them with pressurised water from armoured vehicles,
also firing warning shots in the air.

About 600 paramilitary commandos were deployed outside the governor's office
after protesters stoned the building.

Groups of angry youths, some wearing masks, pelted the security forces with
sticks and stones or petrol bombs, shouting slogans in favour of the PKK and
its jailed leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The crowd burned down a bank and torched several vehicles on Tuesday.

Ala identified one of the dead as a passer-by who was killed in a traffic
accident while running away from the trouble, and Diyarbakir Mayor Osman
Baydemir said two other victims died in hospital from firearms wounds.

Half of the injured were policemen, Ala said, adding that one person was in
serious condition.

The main Kurdish party, the Democratic Society Party (DTP), urged an end to
the violence, while blaming the unrest on Ankara's failure to meet Kurdish
demands for greater freedoms.

"The developments have come to a point that will seriously harm both
democracy and our peoples' will to live together," Baydemir, a DTP member,
said. "What has happened is the result of the failure to find a permanent
and peaceful settlement to the Kurdish question."

Eager to boost its EU bid, Ankara has made a series of gestures to the
Kurds, including the inauguration of Kurdish-language broadcasts and private
courses teaching their tongue, but activists demand broader rights.

"No reason can justify such violence. You cannot resolve a problem by
creating bigger problems," Ala said, calling on residents for restraint.

In Ankara, Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu charged that the unrest was
instigated by the PKK, which has stepped up violence in the southeast since
calling off a five-year ceasefire in June 2004.

The foreign ministry said it was investigating whether the Denmark-based
pro-PKK Roj TV, which Turkey wants banned, had a role in fanning the
violence.

The Kurdish conflict in Turkey has claimed 37 000 lives since the PKK,
blacklisted as a terrorist group by Ankara, the EU and the United States,
took up arms for Kurdish self-rule in the south-east in 1984.

Three Iran Guards killed in Kurdish clash - report

29 Mar 2006 14:33:51 GMT

Source: Reuters

TEHRAN, March 29 (Reuters) - Three members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards
were killed in a clash with Kurdish separatists in the country's restive
western borderlands, Iran's student news agency ISNA said on Wednesday.

The Revolutionary Guard "agents" were killed in fighting on Tuesday with a
Kurdish group called PJAK. Their bodies were transferred from the border to
the nearby city of Salmas, the report said.

Iranian officials were not immediately available for comment. Iran's
Revolutionary Guards are an ideologically driven branch of the country's
armed forces.

Security experts say PJAK is an Iranian wing of the Kurdistan Workers Party
(PKK) whose separatist struggle regained momentum in southeastern Turkey
after it called off a unilateral ceasefire in the summer of 2004.

The PKK Web site said seven Iranian soldiers were killed and 11 injured in a
clash with PKK guerrillas. It said Iranian forces launched an operation
against the rebels on March 25 in an area it identified as Kelares, near the
border between Iran and Turkey. It said there were no PKK casualties.

It was not immediately clear if the two reports were referring to the same
incident.

Iran's western cities, home of the country's Kurdish minority, have simmered
with tension since July when riots erupted in a city in the area. There have
been several civilian and police deaths in violence since then.

Iranian officials have said the violence was not ethnically motivated but
Kurdish leaders say Tehran's discriminatory treatment of their people is
stirring unrest.

Kurds consist 6 million of Iran's 67 million population, many of whom live
in the mountainous northwest bordering Iraq and Turkey, also home of Kurdish
minorities.

if Muslims start fighting with one another and if it leads to high
causality rate, its a good sign for humanity and the whole
world, terrorists can be kept occupied within their own territory, and
trouble spots can be created all over the world, rein them in their own
backyard.....the rest of humanity can develop in peacefully
co-existence........due to this every normal right thinking person
globally should contribute at least 1000$....and give them special
weapons, where the toll is maximum, todays smart weapons with cutting
edge technology can be made in such a way, that they will self
destruct,if they are taken out of their specific location,to any place

Newroz of 2006 Transformed to Referendum

The national fiesta of Kurdish People, Newroz, which is celebrated like
resistance, unity and freedom day, was celebrated in the four parts of
Kurdistan and foreign countries, in which Kurds live, with a grand
enthusiasm and participation.

It was quite conspicuous that, the enthusiasm and participation of Newroz
celebrations, to which millions of people joined, were much than past years.
The principal common denominator of all activities were the owning of Mr.
Abdullah Ocalan with slogans and posters.

The Kurdish people, who were participated to the celebrations, defined
clearly with their slogans that, Mr. A.Ocalan represents their political
willpower and he must be drawee in the solution of Kurdish Question. And
they want his freedom in this base. In this point of view, it can be said
that, Newroz celebrations of 2006 was veritable a public referendum in the
base of accepting Mr. A.Ocalan as a political willpower.

Another subject, which occurred in Newroz fiesta, was Kurdish People showed
with force that, they are decided and insintent about democracy and freedom.
They want from at first, Turkish Government and also from Iran, Syria, EU
and USA to make necessities of their responsibilities, for peace and
democratic solution.

Crowd of people requested from countries in the region to stop violence
against Kurdish People for providing peace and stabilization and to take
base the democratic and political solution of the problem.

23.03.2006

To European Democratic Public

Newroz fiesta, which is the symbol of Freedom and Resistance for Kurdish
People, was celebrated with millions of people, in all regions, in which
Kurds leave. The participation to Newroz fiesta, which was celebrated
especially in Turkey and North Kurdistan and the invitations of peaceful
solution for Kurduish Question, followed by Turkish Government with a grand
impatience. Because of this, operations against mountains of Kurdistan were
started after Newroz, with participation of ten thousands of soldiers.

To the operation, which was started on 23th March, in Bingol-Mus region,
more than 10 000 soldiers were joined, and chemical gases were used against
guerilla forces, despite hard winter conditions. We invite once again first
European Public, and all world humanity to be sensitive against this inhuman
war method and weapon, which was excited death of 14 Kurdish guerillas and
to develop the required attitude against Turkish Government.
These operations, which were improved after Newroz, made in the frame of
totally war invite, which was made by Turkish General Staff, before.
Consequently, in the same days, operations were made also in Mardin, Dersim
and Sirnak regions, in parallel. The main target of these operations, which
are still continuening, to destroy totally the democratic, peaceful and
brotherhood solution methods of Kurdish People. Consequently, we invite all
the humanist and democratic milieus and persons, who are aside peace, to
oppose these operations, which are being made by Turkish Army, and
purposefully massacre, and to do necessities.

The press and cruelty of Turkish Government in Kurdistan is not limited with
these military operations, also in a lot of region, outdated pressures are
being enforced to our civilian people. By this concept, civilian people are
being murdered, people are being arrested and being tortured. On 25th March,
in Dersim, a Kurdish villager, who was named as Serdar Donmez, 25, lost his
life by a mine, which was layed down by Turkish Government.

After the demonstration, which was made to protest the arrresting of the
Provincial Chairman of Democratic Public Party (DEHAP) from Hakkari,
Sabahattin Suvagci, 22 persons were taken into custody. After, 5 of them
were arrested by the Public Prosecutor and put to prison. On 25th March, in
Elazig, in front of the city building of Democratic Society Party (DTP), a
bomb was exploded. At last, a tradesman, named as Osman Sutcu, 42, lost his
life in Batman, in front of his home, with attack of unknown person or
persons.

We want to define that, all of these, made in the frame of a common concept,
which is being made by AKP Government and Turkish Army..

The Accepted System Of Dissent, War Veteran Speaks Out
"Veteran's speech on March 18, 2006."
By Mike Kress
March 24, 2006

Why are we here today?

We are here because we oppose the war on Iraq. We are here because gathering together in one place makes a statement,
and might have an impact on those who are afraid to question our government's actions.

Why are we here today?

We are here because standing in solidarity with others who are outraged about the war on Iraq helps us feel better. It
helps us feel sane to find others who reject the lies of our government. It helps us feel grounded to know that other
people don't buy the propaganda fed to us by the mainstream media.

We are here because we know that what's happening in Iraq - and what's likely to occur in Iran - is morally and
criminally wrong. We are here because we hope that our presence, in conjunction with others doing the same thing across
the nation and around the world, will make a positive difference.

And yet, these statements don't really answer the question: Why are we here today?

I would say we are here today because we believe that if we amass enough demonstrators, hold enough rallies, and walk
in enough marches, we will turn the tide of war.

We are here today because we believe that if we say the right words and carry the right signs we will get our foot in
the door of democratic debate.

In short, we are here because we believe in an illusion. That illusion is an accepted system of dissent that ensures
our resistance doesn't go beyond boundaries established by the government and the corporate media.

Methods that worked 40 years ago have been gradually homogenized into a manageable system of dissent that channels our
moral outrage and our demands for peace into predictable, self-censoring, and largely ineffective protest.

Like cattle penned inside corrals and channeled down chutes to the killing floor, we are following a blueprint for
dissent that the people in power have basically designed for us. Is it any wonder that we find ourselves doing the same
things we did before (and after) every previous war?

If we want to end the occupation of Iraq, or stop the war on Iran - if we want the power to decide our own future - we
must stop focusing on a particular war, a particular president, or a particular policy. Instead, we must focus on
creating a sane new world by demolishing the illusions in which we live and rewriting the rules under which we are
little more than slaves.

Before we can figure out how to build that new world, we must first realize that the wars, presidents, and policies we
routinely oppose are part of a system wherein governments, militaries, police, and the courts work for corporations and
the wealthy - not We the People. And we must recognize that our predictable, conventional methods of protest are simply
figured into their cost of doing business.

Make no mistake: Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Snow, the Clintons, the Kerrys, the Supreme Court, the CIA,
the WTO, the IMF, the World Bank, the fossil fuels industry, the military-industrial complex, and everyone controlling
this system, are not incompetent or stupid. They are corporatists, and they know what they are doing. They are
deliberately dismantling our freedoms and protections so that corporate capitalism - backed by military and police
power - can become a global reality.

"But wait," you say. Don't Americans have free speech? Can't we vote the bums out?

Well, what is free speech when it falls on deaf ears? What is voting when corporations manufacture hackable electronic
voting machines that leave no paper trail? What is an election when the major political parties are two sides of a
counterfeit coin?

It's time to throw away our misplaced faith in this corrupt, undemocratic system and build alternatives to it. "Another
world is possible" isn't possible if we keep supporting a system that's rigged against us.

Martin Luther King Jr. recognized this reality when he spoke at New York's Riverside Church in 1967. He said:

.[W]e as a nation must undergo a radical revolution of values. We must rapidly begin the shift from a thing-oriented
society to a person-oriented society. When machines and computers, profit motives and property rights, are considered
more important than people, the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism, and militarism are incapable of being
conquered..A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social
uplift is approaching spiritual death.

Sadly, America has reached spiritual death. But the beautiful thing about the spirit is that it can be revived,
reawakened, and renewed! Our spirits can rise from the dead.

Gandhi said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." If we follow his wisdom, we will see today's protest not as
an end, but as a beginning. Think of this gathering as a town hall meeting - a community meeting where we educate each
other and organize. This protest should be the first step in a revolution wherein we transform ourselves, and then our
communities, into the world we wish to see.

We can control our future by rejecting the system of death and lies and wasteful corporate capitalism that we've been
brainwashed to believe is the American Way.

By acting in revolutionary ways we can begin building a new and sustainable world that prevents our children from dying
in (or protesting) more immoral and unnecessary wars.

We must think creatively and wisely. We must build our own media, newspapers, websites; and our own cooperative
networks, to include independent unions, banks, shops, farms, and housing. We must join with the men and women around
the world who oppose the undemocratic, unaccountable, inhuman corporate structure that is destroying our planet.

Peak oil, global warming, and dwindling natural resources require that we start now. It won't be easy. The mainstream
media will not inform us; there is no charismatic leader to lead us, and no political party can save us. It falls upon
"We the People" to free our minds and claim our own destiny.

The alternative is to accept a fate that others have chosen for us.

First you would have to have your nurse stand you up, and drop your depends.
Someone would also have to hold you bathrobe aside. You will be peeing on
your feet again you know?

What do pink flamingos cost this week in your quaint little souvenir shop?

I'm not going to do your homework for you. IF the evidence exists,
you need to spit it out in a coherent manner. And no, book reviews on
Amazon don't count, since anyone can go there and write a book review,
without even having read the book.
