Well clueless neither has Israel. OTOH Iran simply invaded and
occupied the US Embassy and held US citizens (including military

against the US ...

Remember When...? - February 2003

You'll find it edifying to review how we were back when.
.
This is our little time machine - Google - to peer back
at how we were, what we believed, what we fell for,
how we were right, what was the hot topic of the day....
.
I chose February 2003, the month before the invasion of Iraq.
.
Almost immediately my attention was arrested by a particular
name. The name has been prominent in the news the
last two or three weeks. You should be familiar with the
"Saddam tapes" that have generated much yack, on
newsgroups, blogs and main stream media. The two
major players in *selling* the tapes at their "Intelligence Summit"
are John Loftus and William Tierney.

It was Bill Tierney whose name I came across while Googling
February 2003.

I came across numerous articles with the words "SMOKING GUN"
embedded in the title. The words "smoking gun" were a quote from
William Tierney:

"It quoted William Tierney, a former UN weapons inspector who has
continued to gather information on Saddam's arsenal, as saying
Mahmoud's information was "the smoking gun" that has so far proved so
elusive for both the UN weapons inspectors and US intelligence.

"Once the inspectors go to where Mahmoud has pointed them, then it's
all over for Saddam," Mr Tierney said."

You can read one delightful article (we gag over this stuff now, but
back then people ate it up - interesting to read) here:
http://news.scotsman.com/international.cfm?id=137452003

A MEDIA onslaught was unleashed on Saddam Hussein yesterday, as reports
in newspapers from New York to Australia accused him of hiding chemical
weapons in underground bunkers and of forging long-standing links with
Osama bin Laden's terror network.

The Iraqi leader's senior bodyguard had fled with details of his
secret arsenal, Australia's popular Herald-Sun newspaper reported -
including Scud missiles from north Korea and biological weapons in two
bunkers buried in the Iraq's western desert

The bodyguard, Abu Hamdi Mahmoud, had provided Israeli intelligence
with a list of sites, the newspaper said, as he was debriefed at a
high-security Israeli base.
...
The Israeli prime minister, Ariel Sharon, would use his evidence to
"shatter the growing anti-war movement," the newspaper quoted a source
close to Mr Sharon. "He plans to call all those European leaders who
are wavering to let them know how Saddam has continued to fool Hans
Blix and his weapons inspectors."
...
"Jund al-Shams is controlled by a man named Mussa'ab al Zarqawià
[who] is believed by European intelligence agencies to be al-Qaeda's
main specialist in chemical and biological terrorism," it said.
---------------------------------------------
(Say, did you catch this article about Tierney?:
http://www.nationalreview.com/york/york200602200720.asp
it's...it's...it's startling)

The second major player in the "Intelligence Summit"
was John Loftus. I dealt with him in a previous post:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is an article about a previous adventure of John Loftus':
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=38371

The article discusses (from the John Loftus, "need a witness? I'll be
a witness" point of view) an attempted terrorist act in Jordan.
John Loftus says in the article it was VX they were going to use and
goes off into all sorts of tangents. The terrorists were going to use
concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide not VX. Saying VX allowed Loftus
to point at Saddam. The most likely place they ripped the hydrogen
peroxide off is from a water purification plant. It is also a bleach
for paper and textiles. You will find a very diluted form of it in
your medicine cabinet as a disinfectant, perhaps. However, some
hobbyists use it as rocket fuel. Yep, it can cause a real punch and
I expect some full scale rockets may use it.

The terrorists also had some sulfuric acid and other generally
available
things which can be nasty if spilled on you. Detonating the hydrogen
peroxide in the vicinity of sulfuric acid bottles would make a small
hot zone of caustic droplets and fumes so the article can say, as it
did, "toxic cloud". Concentrated hydrogen peroxide itself, out of the
bottle, is corrosive, so any hydrogen peroxide that did not
efficiently detonate would create a nasty mist. But the article says
"80,000" possibly killed by the "toxic cloud". On a calculator if you
put a paper bag over someone's head and locked into the bag
a certain quantity of hydrogen peroxide you could get the person to
breath enough hydrogen peroxide to sear their lungs and make them
expire. So divide the quantity needed in the bag into the quantity
possessed by the terrorists and viola 80,000.
.
John Loftus is a professional witness.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But, that is just one short trip back to February 2003.
- a line from Star Trek just came to mind:
"Many such journeys are possible. Let me be your gateway".
Bet some of you know instantly what the episode was.

llame a Emergencias.

Why doesn't the media describ the killing of millions of christians and non Christians in world war one and two as
Christian Murderers who were around 70 million. How many people every day sentenced for murder in europe, canada and US
?
How many of them are christians ? Why are't the media headlines saying "Christian Murderers and Killers" ?

Afghan war isn't ours

Canada has absolutely no strategic, commercial, cultural or emotional
interests in Afghanistan

By Eric Margolis

Paris -- Scattered across South Africa's windswept veldt are the
forgotten graves of 266 Canadian soldiers killed from 1899-1902
fighting to impose British Imperial rule on fiercely resisting Boer
farmers.

A century later, Canadian troops have again been sent to fight
as auxiliaries in another remote war -- this time Afghanistan.

Since time immemorial, when great emperors went to war, they
summoned contingents of their vassals and tributaries to their
standards. So it was in Afghanistan, and then Iraq, when the U.S.
decided to invade those nations and demand its allies join
the so-called "war on terrorism".

Under irresistible pressure from Washington to aid its highly
unpopular military expeditions in either Iraq or Afghanistan,
America's allies and NATO partners opted for the lesser
evil, Afghanistan.

That is why 2100 Canadian troops have ended up in a nation in
which Canada has absolutely no strategic, commercial, cultural
or emotional interests.

Now, as the number of Canadian military casualties rises, the
dismayed public rightly asks, "What are we doing there?
We thought it was another peacekeeping mission".

Thank Ottawa and Canada's media for misinforming the public. There
was no significant debate in Parliament. The media indulged in
flag-waving instead of warning Canadians they were walking into
a small, but real, war.

Canadians are not peacekeeping in Kandahar: There is no peace
to keep. They are there to help impose U.S. rule over Afghanistan,
and safeguard routes for planned oil pipelines.

Canadian soldiers are on a war-fighting mission, auxiliaries in
the US-led military occupation of Afghanistan. In the southern
heartland of the nation's largest tribe, the famously warlike and
xenophobic Pashtun, U.S. forces and their allies are seen as
foreign occupiers and enemies of Islam. Pashtun are slow to act
but ferocious, and they never forget a wrong.

For some reason, Ottawa agreed to put its little garrison into
Afghanistan's most dangerous area, Kandahar, in the centre
of Pushtun territory and the heartland of the Taliban. Afghans do
not differentiate between Americans and Canadians.

Fierce tribes
Afghan tribes are taking up arms against their foreign occupiers.
I saw this happen during the 1980s, when growing hatred of Soviet
occupation forces ignited a national uprising.

Today, in the eyes of many Afghans, the U.S. has merely replaced
the Soviets. All past occupiers, starting with Alexander the Great,
were driven out by the fierce Afghan tribes.

Canucks are prime targets. They lack effective liaison with
circling U.S. warplanes that normally bomb and rocket any attackers
within 2-3 minutes of an assault. Such deadly instant response by
U.S. air power forced the resistance to resort to roadside explosives
and car bombs, as in Iraq.

National resistance is growing. The US-installed Karzai regime in
Kabul would not last a day without foreign bayonets.

The former Taliban regime almost totally suppressed the heroin
trade. Today, Afghanistan is a narcostate. It supplies 90% of the
world's heroin -- the economy runs on drug money. This is the
"democratic" regime Canadian troops are defending with their lives.

Parliament, media, and all Canadians have got to begin debating
what their soldiers are doing in this war that lacks any foreseeable
political resolution.

Forget all the cheery propaganda fed to the gullible press:
Afghanistan is a dangerous mess and Canadians are right in
the middle of it.

When more body bags come home from Kandahar, as they likely will,

Canada's politicians are going to have to start explaining to the
public what, exactly, its soldiers are dying for in Afghanistan.

Just substitute The Netherlands for Canada.

It is absolute foolishness and lunacy to send anybody
to help out in a disastrous US/British colional war on poor
Muslim people in a country ten thousand miles away.
It should never have started in the first place.

Bush and Blair turned a defense against stateless
terrorism into two large wars on sovereign Muslim countries.
Global strategic mistakes as well as international war crimes.
Two cleanshaven western mass murderers in business suits.

The Russians were not welcome.
The Americans and Brits are not welcome.
The Canadians and the Dutch are not welcome.

What's Become of Americans?
by Paul Craig Roberts

Imagine knocking on America's door and being told, "Americans don't live
here any longer. They have gone away."

But isn't that what we are hearing, that Americans have gone away? Alan
Shore told us so on ABC's Boston Legal on March 14:

"When the weapons of mass destruction thing turned out not to be true, I
expected the American people to rise up. They didn't.

"Then, when the Abu Ghraib torture thing surfaced and it was revealed
that our government participated in rendition, a practice where we
kidnap people and turn them over to regimes who specialize in torture, I
was sure then the American people would be heard from. We stood mute.

"Then came the news that we jailed thousands of so-called terrorist
suspects, locked them up without the right to a trial or even the right
to confront their accusers. Certainly, we would never stand for that. We
did.

"And now, it's been discovered the executive branch has been conducting
massive, illegal, domestic surveillance on its own citizens. You and me.
And I at least consoled myself that finally, finally the American people
will have had enough. Evidentially, we haven't.

"In fact, if the people of this country have spoken, the message is
we're okay with it all. Torture, warrantless search and seizure, illegal
wiretappings, prison without a fair trial or any trial, war on false
pretenses. We, as a citizenry, are apparently not offended.

"There are no demonstrations on college campuses. In fact, there's no
clear indication that young people even seem to notice. ...

"The Secret Service can now declare free speech zones to contain,
control and, in effect, criminalize protest. Stop for a second and try
to fathom that. At a presidential rally, parade, or appearance, if you
have on a supportive T-shirt, you can be there. If you're wearing or
carrying something in protest, you can be removed.

"This! In the United States of America."

Readers tell me that Americans don't live here any more. They ask what
responsible American citizenry would put up with the trashing of the
Bill of Rights and the separation of powers, with wars based on
deception, and with pathological liars in control of their government?
One reader recently wrote that he believes that "no element of the U.S.
government has been left untainted" by the lies and manipulations that
have driven away accountability. So-called leaders, he wrote, "talk a
great story of American pride and patriotism," but in their hands
patriotism is merely a device for "cynical manipulation and fraud."

The Bush regime acknowledges that 30,000 Iraqi civilians, largely women
and children, have been killed as a result of Bush's invasion. Others
who have looked at civilian casualties with greater attention have come
up with numbers three to six times as large. The Johns Hopkins study
accounted for 98,000 civilian deaths. Alex Cockburn, using more
sophisticated statistical analysis, concluded that 180,000 Iraqis died
as a result of Bush's invasion. The former prime minister Iyad Allawi
says that Iraqi sectarian violence alone is claiming 50-60 deaths per
day, or 18,000-22,000 annually, a figure that could quickly worsen.

Some were killed by "smart bombs" that weren't very smart and dropped on
hospitals, schools, and weddings. Others were mistaken for resistance
fighters and killed. Still others were killed by spooked, trigger-happy
U.S. troops. And many died due to the breakdown of the Iraqi health
system.

Now comes a report in the online edition of Time magazine that U.S.
Marines went on a rampage in the village of Haditha and deliberately
slaughtered 15 unarmed Iraqis in their homes. The Iraqis were still in
their bed clothes, and 10 of the 15 were women and children.

The Marines turned in a false report that the civilians were killed by
an insurgent bomb. But the evidence of wanton carnage was too powerful.
Pressed by Time's collection of evidence, U.S. military officials in
Baghdad opened an investigation. Time reports that "according to
military officials, the inquiry acknowledged that, contrary to the
military's initial report, the 15 civilians killed on Nov. 19 died at
the hands of the Marines, not the insurgents. The military announced
last week that the matter has been handed over to the Naval Criminal
Investigative Service, which will conduct a criminal investigation."

If this story is true, under Donald Rumsfeld and George Bush's
leadership, proud and honorable U.S. Marines have degenerated into the
Waffen SS. Those of us raised on John Wayne war movies find this very
hard to take.

A fish rots from the head. Clearly, deception in the Oval Office is
corrupting the U.S. military. One reader reported that on March 19 his
local PBS station aired a program that discussed the deaths of two young
American soldiers in friendly fire incidents similar to Pat Tillman's
death. In each case, he reports, "elements within the military falsified
reports and attempted to shift blame to either enemy combatants or
allied (Polish) forces."

The neocons have yet to tell us the real reason for their assault on
Iraq, which has so far produced 20,000 dead, maimed, and wounded U.S.
soldiers, between 30,000 and 180,000 (and rising) Iraqi civilians, and
demoralized U.S. Marines to the point that they commit atrocities on
women and children.

Would real Americans accept these blows for the sake of an undeclared
agenda? Perhaps it is true that Americans don't live here any longer.

Turkish Troops Kill 14 Kurdish Guerillas

ANKARA, Turkey -- Turkish troops killed 14 Kurdish guerrillas in
fighting in southeastern Turkey, local military authorities said
Saturday.

The fighting occurred near the hamlet of Senyayla in the province of
Mus on Friday and Saturday, authorities said. Turkish soldiers found
the bodies of 14 guerrillas from the Kurdistan Workers Party on
Saturday, officials said.

Meanwhile, a bomb blast at a restaurant in the southeastern city of
Tunceli injured a waitress, authorities said. There was no claim of
responsibility but suspicion fell on Kurdish guerrillas in the area,
they said.

Hours later, another bomb went off in a garbage can in the nearby city
of Elazig, shattering windows of some businesses, police said.

Tensions have been running high in the Kurdish-dominated southeast,
where autonomy-seeking Kurdish guerrillas have escalated attacks
recently.

The fight for autonomy has claimed the lives of more than 37,000 people

since 1984. The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by Turkey,
the United States and the European Union.

The guerrillas are mainly based in northern Iraq and Turkey.

IRS and Privacy

High everyone I read an article earlier this week that talked about
how the IRS is coming out with new rules that would allow tax
preparers and accountants the right to sell your tax information. Here
is a petition that to stop them.

http://common-sense-america.com/irs-petition.htm

There is a hearing on April 4. They are trying to get as many
signatures as possible before then.
