Do you recall American and British military commanders saying that Iranian
Revolutionary Guards were infiltrating Southern Iraq? How can Iran attack
U.S. forces like they claim they would if this were not true? Yeah, they
could lob a few missiles over the border, but then, our B-52s, B-1s and
B-2s would obliterate their entire defense structure. So they have to have
people on the ground to do anything meaningful. Surprise, suprise. They
do.

They signed the NNPT. What they do with their nuclear program in the most
unstable region of the world is everyone's business.

Nonsense. They were described as "rabble rousers". I don't think that
terrorism as a term was even used back then.

The president's war madness

President Bush said he invaded Iraq to rid the world of a madman. It
is ever-more clear Bush went mad to start it.

This week, The New York Times reported on a confidential memo about a
meeting between Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Jan. 31, 2003.
It was just before Secretary of State Colin Powell would go before the
United Nations to convince the world of the planetary threat of Iraqi
dictator Saddam Hussein and ask for a second UN resolution to condemn him.

In his Feb. 5 presentation, Powell used excerpts of conversations and
satellite photographs to paint a picture of an Iraq where Hussein was
concealing weapons of mass destruction. Powell, whose credibility lay in his
image as one of the few members of the Bush team to have actually fought in
war, said, "We have firsthand descriptions of biological weapons factories
on wheels and on rails." He said Iraq's "sophisticated facilities" could
produce enough biological agents in a single month "to kill thousands upon
thousands of people."

Powell's punch line was, "Every statement I make today is backed up by
sources, solid sources. These are not assertions."

But Bush already had realized the sources were not panning out.
According to a Times review of the entire Jan. 31 memo, written by Blair's
foreign policy adviser, David Manning, it showed that "the president and the
prime minister acknowledged that no unconventional weapons had been found
inside Iraq."

With no weapons, Bush talked about provoking Hussein. "The U.S. was
thinking of flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft with fighter cover over Iraq,
painted in UN colors," the Times quotes the memo as saying. "If Saddam fired
on them, he would be in breach."

Bush had come up with an official start date of March 10 that,
according to the memo, "was when the bombing would begin." The war actually
began March 19. The memo summarized the president as assuming, "The air
campaign would probably last four days, during which some 1,500 targets
would be hit. Great care would be taken to avoid hitting innocent
civilians."

Bush thought the air onslaught would ensure the early collapse of
Hussein's regime. Bush thought the air strikes "would destroy Hussein's
command and control quickly," Iraq's army would "fold very quickly," and
Hussein's Republican Guard would be "decimated by the bombing." Bush also
assumed in the rebuilding of Iraq that it was "unlikely there would be
internecine warfare between the different religious and ethnic groups."

Even though his growing fears about finding no weapons of mass
destruction had reached the incredible point of considering fakery to make
it look like Hussein started the war, Bush had the gall to go before the
press on Jan. 31 after his meeting with Blair and show no doubt. A reporter
asked Bush, "Mr. President, is Secretary Powell going to provide the
undeniable proof of Iraq's guilt that so many critics are calling for?"

Bush responded, "Well, all due in modesty, I thought I did a pretty
good job myself of making it clear that he's not disarming and why he should
disarm. Secretary Powell will make a strong case about the danger of an
armed Saddam Hussein. He will make it clear that Saddam Hussein is fooling
the world, or trying to fool the world. He will make it clear that Saddam is
a menace to peace in his own neighborhood. He will also talk about Al Qaeda
links, links that really do portend a danger for America and for Great
Britain, anybody else who loves freedom."

Powell would deliver on Bush's boast five days later, saying: "There
can be no doubt that Saddam Hussein has biological weapons and the
capability to rapidly produce more, many more. ... With this track record,
Iraqi denials of supporting terrorism take their place alongside the other
Iraqi denials of weapons of mass destruction. It is all a web of lies."

The web spun by Bush has now cost the lives of 2,300 U.S. soldiers,
another 200 British and coalition soldiers, and tens of thousands of Iraqi
civilians. Iraq is closer to civil war than stability. Three years later, it
is the United States that is not disarming, with Bush admitting last week
that our troops will be needed there past his presidency. We took out a
madman with madness. At a minimum, there should be hearings, with Bush under
oath. With any more details like this, the next step is impeachment.

Yuwadee Akkavibul in July 2002. The accused Thai airforce officer and
his wife had escaped justice for two years, because of the officer's
influence and position of authority. (See further: UA-91-2004)

According to the information we have received, hearings were held to
take evidence two times on July 26 and August 4 2004. After hearing a
number of witnesses and obtaining strong evidence, the public
prosecutor charged the accused, Suchart and Yuwadee, with murder,
confinement and harbouring an illegal alien, and the case went to the
full court on November 1, 2004 (Black No. 1089/2547 at Uthaithanee
Provincial Court).

However, the court delayed the trial by setting the next hearing in
January 2006 saying that the court needed to handle pending cases
before new ones, under a new procedure. Local human rights groups say
that some new cases will be delayed for about three or four years
under these circumstances. Ma Suu's lawyer worries that the case will
be weakened by this delay as it is not certain that witnesses will be
available at the convenience of the court over a year from now.

The AHRC calls for your urgent intervention into this matter. Please
send a letter to Mr Kampree Kaocharern, the Attorney General of
Thailand, and urge him to take prompt steps to speed up the case,
considering the brutality and urgency and the fact that the case has
already been considerably delayed before the accused is an airforce
officer. Please also urge him to take evidence from witnesses prior to
the next hearing in 2006 in order to prevent damage to the prosecution
case.

UPDATED INFORMATION:

An 18-year-old Burmese migrant worker, Ma Suu, was brutally murdered
by her employees, Suchart Akkavibul and his wife Yuwadee, who set her
on fire alleging theft in Lop Buri Province, Thailand, in early July
2002. Two years after the incident on June 25, 2004, Suchart and his
wife finally appeared before the Uthaithanee Provincial Court.
However, they were given bail on the grounds that Suchart is a state
officer, although the prosecutor opposed bail. Suchart Akkavibul is a
special group commander in the Royal Thai Airforce.

The public prosecutor then applied to the court in order to take
testimony from the witnesses before the entry of the charge in the
court under Section 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code B.E.2477
[1928]. According to Section 237, when there are reasonable grounds to
believe that it is difficult for the witness to give testimony in the
future, the public prosecutor can apply motion to the court to take
his testimony promptly before the entry of the charge in the court.
The court received this application and hearings were held two times
on July 26 and August 4, 2004. Five Burmese workers who were employed
by Suchart gave their testimony at the hearings. Their names were
recorded as Mr Janai, Mr Chid, Mr Chai, Mr Nai and Mr Sang. At the
hearings, they testified that they saw that Ma Suu was severely beaten
by the employers. Some of them also testified that they saw her burn
injuries after the incident. Another Thai employer named Samrueng
Ponnikorn, who had been involved in the incident, also testified
against the two accused with the agreement that he would be escape
from prosecution. His elder brother, Kamron Ponnikorn has also already
agreed to testify in next hearing on the same condition.
Finally, the Public Prosecutor charged Suchart and his wife with
murder, confinement and harbouring an illegal alien under Sections 289
and 310 of the Penal Code of Thailand and Section 64 of the
Immigration Act B.E.2522 [1979]. The first hearing of the case was
held at Uthaithanee Provincial Court on November 1. Although the
initial progress looked good, the court set the next hearing for
January 2006. As a new hearing system was enforced a year ago, the
court needs time to handle pending cases filed in the old hearing
system prior to hearing new cases. However, local human rights groups
argue that enforcing the new hearing system is being used as an excuse
to drag on trial in some cases, and this case must be heard without
further delay due to its brutality and urgency. The accused Thai
airforce officer and his wife had already escaped justice for two
years, apparently because of the officer's influence and position of
authority.

A journalist working for the Voice of America is also scheduled to
give a statement in the next hearing. He is the person who recorded Ma
Suu's statement about the incident and took her photos when he visited
her at the hospital in July 2004.

Ma Suu's lawyer worries that the delay will weaken the case and the
accused will enjoy impunity in the end, as most of these witnesses may
not be expected to be available at the convenience of the court over a
year from now. The lawyer is also concerned that even though some
witnesses may appear in the court in 2006, the evidence of the case
will be destroyed because the accused is an influential state officer.

BREIF REMINDER OF THE CASE:

Ma Suu was brutally murdered by her employers, Suchart and Yuwadee
Akkavibul, who set her on fire alleging theft in Lop Buri Province,
Thailand, in early July 2002. Although Ma Suu sustained fatal burn
injuries, her employers abandoned her in a room without treatment or
food for three days and then dumped her by a roadside. On the early
morning of July 7, 2002, a man found Ma Suu on the road and sent her
to a hospital in town. However, she died nine days later, after
implicating the accused three persons;, Suchart his wife and Kamron
Ponnikorn.
SUGGESTED ACTION:

Please send a letter to the Attorney General of Thailand and urge him
to take prompt steps to speed up the case. Please also urge the
Attorney General to file the motion to the Court under Section 237 of
the Criminal Procedure Code B.E.2477 [1928], and take evidences from
the witnesses concerned prior to the next hearing in 2006 in order to
prevent loss of evidence.

to the delay by giving enough time and chance to the accused to
manipulate it. I would like to remind you that one of the accused,
Suchart Akkavibul, is an influential officer in the Royal Thai
Airforce, and he and his wife have so far escaped justice for two
years because of this.

I therefore urge you to take prompt action to speed up the case in
court. I also urge you to take appropriate steps to take evidence from
the witnesses concerned, with the permission of the court, prior to
the next hearing in 2006, in order to prevent loss of evidence.

chortled an illegal Mexican into my inbox.

This writer fails to understand that red, brown, yellow, black and
white Americans make up the United States. More than 150 countries
represent Americans.

Unfortunately, in the face of this illegal Mexican invasion, most
Americans maintain ‘political correctness’ in the name of
‘silent-assertion’, which, as Mark Twain said, "Is the shabbiest of
all lies." Naively, Americans don’t understand the implications of
Mexico’s methodical colonization of the United States.

Once Mexicans gain majorities in our cities and voting blocks, they
care nothing for political correctness, civil rights or the U.S.
Constitution. Another reader wrote, "I look into my crystal ball and
see into the future, the year 2036, exactly 200 years after Travis,
Bowie, Crockett and my great, great, great grandfather James George
and 176 others died defending the Alamo. I see my descendents’
children in school, facing discrimination, violence, disease, drugs
and an untenable learning environment. My descendants have been taxed
out of their property and their wealth distributed amongst the teeming
masses. The Texas legislator has been taken over by a radical Hispanic
group and has just voted to secede Texas from the Union and join New
Mexico , Arizona, and the southern half of California in becoming a
part of the southwest that has been returned to the Nation of Altzan.
Our federal officials in Congress are gutless and we have no
Lincoln-type in the White House. My descendants curse me and question
why I and their other ancestors let this happen to them. The tears
will not stop flowing for what has been lost."

When it comes to collateral damage from this invasion, a Fullerton,
California reader wrote, "I wanted to give you my story of how Orange
County has gone to hell with the massive illegal alien Mexican
population. This week, I’m moving out of CA up to Washington State
because it’s better than living in fear after having been robbed three
times in the past three months. I lived minutes away from Fullerton
College in an apartment I paid for with an exceptional job I landed
outside of high school working on the web. I lived in a decent
neighborhood that in a year turned to hell.

"A half dozen illegals moved into a one bedroom above me. Gang signs
started appearing on street signs and I started getting watched coming
home from work with a laptop over my shoulder driving a nice car. That
car got stolen.

"In our courts, 90 percent of the cases and people in court are
illegals driving without licenses and without insurance. It’s insane
and they hit and run on Americans all the time. My heart cries for
America."

Americans bow their heads to collateral damage in every sector of our
country:

Collateral damage includes our schools suffering horrific
overcrowding, violence, language chaos and failure rates unimagined 15
years ago.

Collateral damage includes our national language suffers from Bill
Clinton’s executive order #13166 forcing taxpayers to pay for
documents to be given in immigrants’ languages at a cost of billions
to our citizens annually. Collateral damage from Clinton’s bill means
illegal and even legal immigrants may never assimilate.

Collateral damage means our working poor stand in unemployment lines
while illegals work their jobs at slave wages—and, off the books--so
no taxes are collected. Thus, the rest of us pay for illegals’ kids in
our schools while they use free lunch programs and medical care.

Collateral damage includes thousands of hit and run accidents that
Americans pay for daily in death and carnage on our highways. For
example, in Greeley, Colorado last year, 270 hit and run accidents
were reported in a town with less than 100,000 people. Three
Coloradans suffered death by illegal aliens last year. How many in
your state?

Collateral damage includes 16,000 new cases of tuberculosis injected
into America in the bodies of unscreened illegal aliens in the past
five years. Another 7,000 cases of leprosy-carrying illegals crossed
into America in the past three years. Tens of thousands of cases of
hepatitis, Chagas and other diseases arrived in the bodies of illegal
aliens. We and our children are at risk.

Collateral damage includes over 500,000 illegal aliens in our state
and federal prisons costing us $1.6 billion annually. What horrible
crimes did they commit on our citizens to warrant felony convictions?
Over 11,000 MS-13 gang members currently operate in the USA as they
distribute $128 billion annually in drugs and commit horrific crimes.

Collateral damage includes 100,000 illegal aliens and their advocates
marching in the streets of Chicago on March 10, 2006, demanding their
rights. As non- citizens, they have no rights for breaking into
America like common house burglars.

Collateral damage includes a 65 percent flunk out/drop out rate in
Denver Public Schools last year with 30,000 illegals and 40 different
languages. One in five teachers quit every five month cycle of the
study and 30 percent of Denver teachers are quitting at the end of
this year because the classroom have become so violent, uneducable and
hopeless. Over 2.1 million illegal alien kids in our American
classrooms create substandard education for our children.

Collateral damage includes hundreds of Mexican TV and radio stations
broadcasting across America in Spanish. These stations make sure no
immigrants, whether legal or illegal, assimilate into the American way
of life. But rather, fracture this country into enclaves and, given
enough time--creating uninvested, disloyal, non-citizens with
different agendas that possess nothing in common with the American way
of life.

Collateral damage includes growing ‘racism’ by Mexicans against
Americans as shown by the vicious quote at the beginning of this
piece—and more violently realized in Los Angeles, Houston and anywhere
they gain greater numbers. When the rate of immigration exceeds the
rate of assimilation, it stands as a recipe for the destruction of any
civilization.

Collateral damage includes the massive fraud perpetrated on our
society by those who hire illegal aliens, non payment of income taxes,
use of free lunches for their children, free medical care that we pay
for, document fraud, stolen identities, mortgage fraud, two-tiered
level of law enforcement—with one tier for illegals—a striking absence
of law enforcement. Americans are getting killed, wrecked, robbed and
raped in the process of this lawless invasion.

Accelerating collateral damage: the impending guest worker program
along with legal immigration adds 60 to 70 million Mexicans and others
into the USA within 10 years. If you think gridlock, air pollution,
crowded schools, cost of living, lowered quality of life and other
problems are bad now—you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

Corruption is a mechanism by which Third World countries operate. As
it pours into America, it’s known as ‘Third World Momentum’. Like a
cancer, it metastasizes into every sector and level of government
until this foreign cancer destroys the ability of our nation to
function. Law abiding Americans become victims in every realm of their
lives.

If you keep sitting, waiting, watching and hoping our Congress and
President Bush will do something, you are sadly mistaken. It’s time to
pressure state governments to act. Alabama Republican Scott Beason of
Gardendale introduced a bill to criminally prosecute employers who
hire illegal aliens. Republican David Schultheis of Colorado and
Democrat Andrew Romanoff craft a similar bill in the Rocky Mountain
State. Radio talk show host, Peter Boyles, of 630 KHOW in Denver,
suggested employers of illegal aliens suffer a $20,000.00 fine the
first time and a month in jail the second time they get caught hiring
illegals.

Since Bush is in violation of his oath of office for five years
running and in violation of Article 4 Section IV of the U.S.
Constitution, it’s up to states to defend themselves. If they don’t,
the collateral damage to our states, communities, families and
individual lives accelerates with the added three million illegal
aliens crossing our borders annually. This is a matter of life and
death for our nation.

BRUSSELS, March 30, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A Catholic priest in
Belgium known popularly as Père Samuel is to be brought to trial for
hate crimes according to a decision reached last week by the Belgian
judiciary. According to the Brussels Journal
(http://www.brusselsjournal.com/node/936 ), the priest, who fled from
Turkey under Islamic persecution, is being prosecuted for warning
against Islamic fundamentalism.

His offending statement: "Every thoroughly islamized Muslim child that
is born in Europe is a time bomb for Western children in the future.
The latter will be persecuted when they have become a minority."

After hearing of his upcoming trial the priest, who was suspended by
his bishop but nonetheless remains a popular clergyman, repeated his
statement and warns against "the islamic invasion" of the West.

While that sentiment may seem bitter to some, it is a sincere
conviction for many prelates coming from Islamic nations.

In a startling statement which received very little coverage, the
Patriarch of the Greek Melkite Catholic Church, stated in an interview
published last October "According to me, after 11 September, there is a
plot to eliminate all the Christian minorities from the Arabic world."

The Patriarch, who oversees some 20,000 Melkite Catholics in Syria,
explained in an interview with the Italian magazine 30 Days, "Islam is
our milieu, the context in which we live and with which we are
historically associated. We have lived 1,400 years in the middle of
them. We understand Islam from the inside. When I hear a verse of the
Koran, it's not something foreign to me. It's an expression of the
civilization to which I belong."

Regarding the 'plot' to oust Christians he stated, "Our simple
existence ruins the equations whereby Arabs can't be other than
Moslems, and Christians but be westerners." If, he said, "the Middle
East is cleansed of all the Arabic Christians, the Moslem Arab world
and a so-called Christian Western world will be left face to face. It
will be easier to provoke a clash and justify it with religion.

Arabia, five women decided if you can't beat them, join them.

Al Watan newspaper said the five women underwent sex change surgery
abroad over the past 12 months after they developed a "psychological
complex" due to male domination.

Women in Saudi Arabia, which adopts an austere interpretation of Islam,
are not allowed to drive or even go to public places unaccompanied by a
male relative.

The newspaper quoted a senior cleric as saying the authorities have to
fill what he described as a legal vacuum by issuing laws against sex
change operations.

An interior ministry official told al Watan such cases are examined by
religious authorities, and sometimes by psychologists, but those who
undergo sex change are never arrested.

Certainly there are many poor people in Mexico, since perhaps half the
country lives in poverty. However, the nation as a whole is quite rich
- see the documented facts listed below - and could well finance the
sort of improvements in education and infrastructure that would better
the living standards of all Mexicans. But the Mexican ultra-rich, like
telecommunications magnate Carlos Slim shown here, don't like to tax
themselves for investment the country badly needs for infrastructure
and education, and it helps them greatly that the American taxpayer
has been forced to support Mexicans living in the United States.

Interestingly, the Forbes list of billionaires published in 2006
showed Carlos Slim moving up to the number three spot among the
world's richest men.

Every dollar spent in U.S. taxes for social services for illegal
aliens frees up additional cash to be sent south as part of the annual
remittances which provided $20 billion in 2005. According to the CNN
news show Lou Dobbs Tonight (3/21/05), "Remittances, as they're
called, are expected to become Mexico's primary source of income this
year, surpassing the amount of money that Mexico makes on oil exports
for the first time ever."

So when el Presidente Vicente Fox complains that the "dignity" of
Mexicans living illegally in America requires that they receive free
healthcare on the U.S. taxpayer's dime, he is really talking about
increased remittances to keep their whole corrupt system afloat.

Consider these relevent facts:

* Mexico has the second-highest highest Gross Domestic Product in
Latin America, after being #1 for several years over second-place
Brazil.

* When measured in GDP per capita, Mexico ranks #1 as of 2005, ahead
of Chile and Venezuela.

* According to Forbes magazine, a substantial proportion of Latin
American billionaires, 10 out of 26, were Mexican as of 2005.

* Mexico raises less revenue through taxation than nearly any other
Latin American country, just 12 percent which is one reason why the
nation's wealth is not better utilized. By comparison, the United
States takes in 25-28 percent of its gross domestic profit in taxes.
Even Brazil taxes itself at twice the Mexican rate.

* Economist Gary Hufbauer of the Institute for International Economics
has remarked, "It's up to Mexico to solve its problem, and basically
the wealthy classes do not want to tax themselves, period. While I'm
not usually an advocate for larger government, Mexico is a country
where public investment, done wisely, could pay huge dividends."

* Mexico expert Prof. George Grayson of William and Mary College calls
Mexico an "immensely wealthy nation."

* Mexico's economy is the world's tenth largest.

* When the ruling party needed a hefty sum for the 1994 election,
Presidente Salinas leaned on a group of rich businessmen to write $25
million checks each at an infamous dinner party, where contributions
totaled a staggering $750 million by evening's end. Compare that with
the measly $150 million campaign chest in spring 2004 that President
Bush had accumulated after three years in office.

* Freedom House notes the cost of corruption: "According a recent
study by the Mexico chapter of Transparency International, some $2.3
billion-approximately 1 percent-of the country's economic production
goes to officials in bribes, with the poorest families paying nearly
14 percent of their income in bribes."

* Ricas y Famosas - Rich and Famous is a book of photos that takes a
peek at the hidden world of the Mexican ultra-rich. Photographer
Daniela Rossell used her membership in the exclusive club to reveal
the decadent lifestyles of blonde women in gold lamé. It is a shocking
view of the most extreme ostentatious wealth among great poverty.

* Sure Things in Mexico: Death, Taxes and Evasion According the recent
rankings released from the IMD International, the Switzerland-based
International Institute for Management Development placed Mexico at 56
out of 60 economies examined, largely because of a dearth of
investment in everything from infrastructure to education. Due to its
pathetic tax collection, Mexico cannot even buy schoolbooks or pay its
police enough to live on, much less invest in its future.

* Lou Dobbs Tonight Transcript (12/16/04) The CNN news show shines a
light on Mexican wealth. Particularly noteworthy is Prof. Grayson's
remark: "There is a small economic elite who live like maharajas, and
there's a political elite that protects them. Our border provides an
escape valve which really lets the Mexican political and economic
elite off the hook in terms of providing opportunities for their own
people."

* While US Focuses on Iraq, Mexico is Collapsing June, 2005, and the
symptoms of Mexico's failure as a state are accumulating. The recent
takeover of border city Nuevo Laredo by the Mexican army because of
the breakdown in law and order was so obvious.

Interestingly, Defense chief Donald Rumsfeld is guided by a secret
Pentagon report which identifies Mexico as a potential failed state in
the making.

that doesn't mean "the graph" is 50 years old, that just means they
chose to show the data going back from that date, for whatever reason
1950 was their benchmark. It stands to reason that if the ice core
samples were begun during the 1970's and added onto thereafter, then the
graph could not be 50 years old.

dwarfs my condo complex. (Not to mention everything else in the immediate

One wonders how this would compare sizewise to the Shuttle crawler, the
Star Wars crawler, the Empire State building, etc -- it's almost 1/3 the
height of the Empire State building (381 m), on crawlers.

And all it does is dig for gold (or coal, which is much the same thing)
in a very large sandbox. :-)

a mover...BTW, Wiki identifies it, or a machine similar to it, as the
Bagger 288. (Apparently there's more than one of these? The Wiki one's
only 13500 tons, but the picture looks almost identical, even down to the

was also used for the moon and Skylab programs) is 40m x 35m x 6-8m (the
unit can adjust its height), weighs a measly 2,700 tons, and requires 4
megawatts, plus an additional 1.5 megawatts for steering, jacking,
ventilating, and lighting.

Oh, and Crawly gets absolutely abysmal gas mileage: 150 gallons/mile (or
350 liters/km). But it can go 1 mile per hour, which means it would win
any race against the stripminer, assuming anyone's silly enough to sponsor
such. Of course it only has to travel a maximum of 6.4 km to Pad B anyway.

But never mind that, just put a large sunshade on the Krupp and presto!
it's solar powered. Yeah right. Just accelerating 45,500 tons (41,277
metric tonnes) to 1/3 mile per hour (0.149 m/s) would consume 460
kilojoules. That's actually not that bad (a 1 metric tonne auto running 30
m/s has 450,000 J kinetic energy) but it's not designed for flat,
frictionless ice rinks; the problem is then lifting that 41277 metric
tonne beastie over a 1 foot (.3048 m) ramp at 9.805 N/kg -- 126 megajoules
right there. If it sinks an inch in the mud that's another 10 1/2
megajoules.

It looks like it could hold a 10 meter by 200 meter "sunshade", with a
little creative engineering, for 2 megawatts. At that power ratio it
would only take a minute to negotiate a ramp which most of us could walk
over in 1 second or so. But then, most of us don't weigh over 6.5 million
stone.

As for the power requirements for the toothed front wheel -- well, 70 feet
is 21.3 m, times 9.805 N/kg, times 76455 m^3/day, times whatever the
density is (probably 2000 kg/m^3), which translates into a grand total
power requirement of 740 kW, assuming a 12-hour workday, but that doesn't
include the force required to break up the ground. (Odd that your website
doesn't mention the actual engine size. Of course this thing probably has
20 engines or so -- 12 for the crawlers, and others for the wheel, belts,
and such.)

Not bad on a sunny day, but what if it rains? :-) Also, the sunshade
would have to follow the sun for maximum efficacy. With my luck it would
tip the unit over.

Not sure it would be all that effective in taking over small countries or
defeating giant Japanese rubber monsters, either. But it's great for
strip mining and rather impressive pictures. :-)
